Good afternoon and welcome back to the Rio where 196 players are about to resume hi/lo battle.
Odette Tremblay, who has a good few cashes to her name going back to 1999 including 12th place in a $1,000 NLH bracelet event in 2005, leads the field on 43,700. Just a few hundred chips behind her, though, are serial WSOP do-weller David Levi and Daniel Studer of Switzerland.
Play is due to resume at 3pm, around 20 minutes from now, and we are going to attempt to play down to a final table. Remember, only 64 of these fine folks are going to get paid, so it's going to be an interesting, and long, day.
Level: 9
Blinds: /
Ante:
Players are at the tables, chips have been debagged and stacked, and cards are in the air.
Good luck, all.
Jeff Lisandro had Chris Grigorian all in for his tournament life after fifth street.
Lisandro: /
Grigorian: /
Grigorian caught the on sixth street to make a straight and Lisandro failed to make a better low, doubling up "The Armenian Express."
Lisandro: Down to 29,000
Grigorian: Up to 4,500
Andrew McLinden: (XXX) /
Mark Janeczek: (XXX) / 8c]
"I got three kings," ventured Andrew McLinden once all the chips had gone in on seventh street.
"I got a straight," Mark Janeczek went one better.
"Did you have it on fifth?" McLinden sighed.
"Actually yes."
It turned out that McLinden was owed some change though - the princely sum of 100 chips. It all went in the next hand as his ante, and he managed to quadruple up to 400 with a straight. A few hands later and he more than doubled up to 1,000 with a pair of fives.
It couldn't last, though - no sooner than we had returned to our laptops than we spied Mr. McLinden getting up and heading for the door. Conclusion: busto.

Joe Leibman: [6] /
Jeff Lisandro: /
The players semmed to be taking it in turns to bet and call, and at the end of it Lisandro took the high and Leibman took the low, meaning little by way of change on the chip stacks.
Fresh of their 40 winks, players have arrived with a renewed vigor, and seem hungry for action as we witness endless big pots. One of those was a three-handed affair which saw the early demise of Max Stern.
Stern: {X}/
Richard Tuttle: /
Andrey Zaichenko: /
Fireworks exploded on fourth street, Tuttle leading, Zaichenko raising, and Stern three-betting to 1,800. Both players called.
On fifth, Tuttle checked, Zaichenko bet and Stern called all in for 1,100. Sixth and seventh both saw Tuttle check-call single bets before being the bad news: both his high and low were pipped by Zaichenko's pocket aces and low to the seven.
As a result, Tuttle is down to just 200 (and exited shortly after), whilst Zaichenko now boasts in excess of 20,000.
