We're only mere minutes away from the start of day two of the $10,000 2-7 Lowball Championship. Yesterday we began with 126 entrants and today 88 players will return to compete for the gold WSOP bracelet and a prizepool of $1,184,400. First place will receive $367,170 and a spot among WSOP history.

We'll be in for a long haul today, playing ten more levels. Vincent Musso starts today's action as the chip leader with 106,200. There are many other notables still alive and well int his field including Shaun Deeb (92,900), Jennifer Harman (83,700), Nick Shulman (73,200), and last year's champion of this event, David "Bakes" Baker (68,200).

Cards are about to fly so stay tuned to PokerNews for all of the most recent updates!

Day 2 is a Go

Jeffery Lisandro - boss

The cards are in the air on Day 2.

We certainly don't want to get in any trouble with Jeffrey Lisandro, so we apologize for mis-reporting his chip count as 800. Someone dropped a zero, and Mr. Lisandro actually has 8,000 chips today.

Deeb to the Front

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 300 ante

Shaun Deeb is back in the chip lead after busting a player on one of the first hands of the day. Deeb opened to 3,100, and Sebastien Sabic three-bet shoved for about 25,000. Deeb called, and he patted his {J-} {9-} {6-} {4-} {2-}. Sabic threw away a jack and picked up a pair, showing {6-} {6-} {8-} {5-} {3-} as he headed out the door.

Deeb is up to about 120,000 now.

What's On Your iPod?

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 300 ante

Johnny Chan was sporting a pair of oversized Beats headphones yesterday, and he looked like a total badass. Today, he's gone back to the familiar skimpy yellow pair, and we have to say we're not fans. We're three tables from Chan, and we can pretty clearly hear the high-pitched music blaring forth.

From the adjacent seat, we just saw David Singer make a comment about it, and Chan fiddled with his iPod for a bit before the noise subsided to some extent.

Zolotow Bows Out

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 300 ante

The Devilfish, Dave Ulliott, came into the pot raising to 3,000, and Steve Zolotow reraised all in for his last 17,700. On the button, Calvin Anderson called the shove, and Devilfish called as well to give Zolotow hopes of tripling.

Everyone patted, and Devilfish check-folded to a bet of 25,600. Anderson rolled over {7-}{6-}{4-}{3-}{2-}, and number two is number one in this pot. Zolotow is gone, and Anderon nearly doubles to about 86,000 with that knockout.

Billirakis Fossilized

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 300 ante

On the button, Greg Raymer opened to 2,500, and Steve Billirakis shoved the small remainder of his stack into the middle. Raymer called the shove, and he patted his {j-}{9-}{8-}{7-}{6-}. Billirakis was drawing live with {9-}{5-}{4-}{3-}, but he pulled another {9-} to pair and punch his ticket home.

Mercier Doubles

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 300 ante

From the cutoff seat, Mike Matusow was first into the pot with a raise, and Jason Mercier three-bet shoved for 19,400. In the big blind, Nikolay Evdakov made the call, and Matusow ducked out with a few words under his breath.

Mercier patted with {10-}{9-}{7-}{3-}{2-}, and Evdakov drew one, showing {7-}{6-}{3-}{2-}. Mercier had a sweat, but he faded elimination as Evdakov paired his {7-}.

Mercier is back close to 45,000, knocking the Russian down to 64,000 in the process.
