Matt O'Donnell Leads the Final 10

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante
Chip Leader Matt O'Donnell.
Chip Leader Matt O'Donnell.

After playing 20 minutes short of 10 levels today, the $10,000 Pot-Limit Hold'em Championship got down to an unofficial final table of 10 and stopped play for the night.

Some big names will come back tomorrow with a shot at the bracelet including the likes of three-time WSOP final table participant Chino Rheem, two-time WSOP final table participant Dan Shak, and WSOP bracelet winners Todd Brunson and Barny Boatman. But they will all be looking up at chip leader Matt O'Donnell, making his second WSOP final table already this year after a fifth-place finish in Event #4: $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em at the beginning of the Series.

The rest of the table is filled with a number of skillful players, including 2012 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure $25,000 High Roller champ Alex Bilokur, 2012 $10,000 Pot-Limit Hold'em fourth-place finisher Alexander Venovski, two-time WSOP final table participant Richard Lyndaker, GuangDong Asia Millions eighth-place finisher Pratyush Buddiga, and two-time WSOP final table participant (including one already this year) Ismael Bojang.

The day started with just 66 players, but did not pass through the money bubble until late in the evening, which is when the top 18 finishers would earn a return on their investment. Players like Phil Ivey, Mike Matusow, Jason Mercier, Phil Galfond, Justin Bonomo, and John Hennigan all busted before the payouts started.

Don Nguyen grabbed a massive chip lead midway through the day, but it didn't last and he joined end-of-day-one chip leader Tony Ruberto busting in the first half of the final 18 and in the money.

Top pros like Erik Seidel, Scott Seiver, John Juanda, and Dani Stern also made the final 18, but they couldn't hold on to the final 10, while Humberto Brenes joined them, making his series-leading seventh cash so far.

The field must lose one more player before the official final table is set, and they will start the effort towards that at 2 p.m. PT on Saturday. The PokerNews Live Updates Team will be here from the start until a champion is crowned, so stay tuned right here for all the action.

Erik Seidel Eliminated in 11th Place ($30,516)

Erik Seidel 11th.

Erik Seidel got it all in preflop with {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} against Matt O'Donnell's {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs} and turned a set on the {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{9-Hearts} board.

The only issue being O'Donnell flopped one and Seidel exited in eighth, leaving us with the unofficial ten-handed final table.

Scott Seiver Eliminated in 12th Place ($30,516)

Scott Seiver 12th.
Scott Seiver 12th.

After Scott Seiver raised and Pratyush Buddiga potted, they got it all in before the flop with virtually the same hand.

It was {a-Spades}{j-Spades} for Buddiga and {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs} for Seiver and it appeared it would be a chop after the {6-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop.

However, the {q-Spades} turn gave Buddiga a flush draw that the {2-Spades} river completed, sending Seiver to the rail in a rather ugly way.

Keith Tilston Eliminated in 13th Place ($25,327)

Keith Tilston 13th.
Keith Tilston 13th.

A few hands after Keith Tilston hit an ace with {a-}{j-} to crack Chino Rheem's {j-}{j-} and double up, they butted heads again.

Tilston led out for 25,000 and Rheem fired back in the big blind, making it 81,000. It took a good four minutes for Tilson to make the call, but when he did, and the flop came {k-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{2-Clubs}, Rheem potted instantly, putting Tilston to a decision for his tournament life.

He made the call with {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts} and looked good to double up again with Rheem on {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}. The {5-Diamonds} turn was safe, but the {8-Spades} river made Rheem a set and sent Tilston home with a bad beat story and a pocket full of cash.

Humberto Brenes got all of his chips in after a {10-Spades}{3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop against Alexander Venovski.

Brenes: {4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}
Venovski: {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}

Brenes was in awful shape, and even worse, the {8-Hearts} hit the turn to leave him drawing dead. The {9-Spades} river was a mere formality, and "The Shark" was sent overboard.

Alex Bilokur raised from the cutoff, and John Juanda potted from the small blind. Bilokur put him all in, and Juanda called off his last few thousand.

Bilokur: {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}
Juanda: {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

"YES!" Juana yelled, mimicking the running joke throughout the tournament of excessive celebration.

It didn't bring good luck, as the flop came {3-Spades}{10-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}. The {6-Clubs} and {2-Diamonds} didn't fill the straight Juanda needed.

"That's why it's important not to get in flips with Alex," Scott Seiver advised.

Don Nguyen and Ismael Bojang started one fateful hand about even in chips and when Nguyen bet 55,000 into around 60,000 on the {9-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop, Bojang potted. They ended up all in after doing the math and it was {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs} for Bojang against Nguyen's {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}.

The {3-Diamonds} turn kept ace-high in the lead, but the {9-Clubs} river made Bojang a flush and one-time chip boss Nguyen was relegated to the rail.

Chino Rheem made it 23,000 and Dani Stern potted it to 74,000 with 68,000 behind. Rheem responded by putting him all in and Stern made the call with {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}.

Rheem held {a-Hearts}{q-Spades} and although he missed the {6-Spades}{2-Clubs}{k-Hearts} flop, the {a-Diamonds} turn put him ahead and the {q-Diamonds} river put Stern away.

Tony Ruberto 18th place.

Facing a raise from Chino Rheem, Tony Ruberto potted it from the big blind and they got it all in before the flop.

Ruberto was at risk with {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} against Rheem's {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades} and after the {q-Clubs}{3-Spades}{3-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} board made Rheem a set and completely missed Ruberto, he went home.
