Event #49: $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em

Day 3 Completed

Miscikowski, Szecsi Deadlocked

Level 31 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante
The heads-up battle continues on to Day 4.
The heads-up battle continues on to Day 4.

Two warriors have proven themselves above the rest in Event #49: $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em, and David Miscikowski and Norbert Szecsi will continue their heads-up dogfight on Day 4. Miscikowski, known as "DonkCommitted" online, will bring a small chip lead into final day, but just a few big blinds separate the two.

Twenty-three players were in contention to start the day, including plenty of notables who fell by the wayside. Anthony "holdplz" Spinella (22nd), Melanie Weisner (21st), Daniel “mrGR33N13” Colman (19th), Jason "NovaSky" Koon (13th), and Josh Arieh (12th) all fell before the final table.

Once there, Blake Bohn looked to be in good shape before losing two flips and eventually going out in ninth, including a huge {a-}{k-} versus {q-}{q-} confrontation to Szecsi. He was followed out the door by John Dolan and Jean Gaspard, in that order. Then, multimillion-dollar winner Kevin MacPhee bowed out in sixth when his {a-}{6-} was dominated by Oliver Price's {a-}{7-}. Unfortunately for Price, the win didn't do him much good as he was the next player out.

Day 3 leader Margareta Morris then got caught squeezing all in with {k-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} by eventual third-place finisher Manig Loeser, who held {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} and stayed good. When Loeser busted after almost two hours of three-handed play, the heads-up battle commenced, and that's what we'll be watching on Day 4.

The victor will claim more than $700,000, so be sure to tune back in at 2 p.m. for the exciting conclusion of the tournament.
