Event #64: $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship began two days ago with 418 entrants putting up $10,000, the last big buy-in event preceding the Main Event. After 29 one-hour levels, only one player was left standing. Pat Walsh (St. Charles, MO) topped the field and earned his first World Series of Poker bracelet to go along with the first-place prize of $923,379.
Walsh found himself near the top of the chip counts throughout the tournament. When Day 1 concluded, he was 16th in chips out of the remaining 132 players. After 10 more levels on Day 2, Walsh sat third in chips with 23 players remaining. His Day 3 path to the final table was relatively easy as by the time the final two tables were reached, Walsh held the chip lead. He continued chipping up from there, eliminating Daniel Hood in 15th place and scoring a massive double elimination, sending Tom Marchese and Alex Kravchenko to the rail in 11th and 10th place, respectively.
From there, Walsh held onto the chip lead for the entire final table until Javed Abrahams gave him a run for his money in the heads-up duel. Abrahams took the chip lead briefly and had a chance to close it out. Walsh got his chips in after the flop with the nut straight, but was an underdog to survive. However, Abrahams missed his many outs to close it out and 18 hands later Walsh emerged victorious.

Hand #164: Pat Walsh limped the button, Javed Abrahams checked his option and the flop fell .
Abrahams checked, Walsh bet 200,000 and Abrahams raised the pot to 600,000. Walsh reraised the pot and Abrahams called all in for about 1.9 million.

Walsh held two pair (three pair, even), but had a lot of outs to fade as Abrahams held the top half of a wrap. The turn kept Walsh ahead and when the river fell, both players studied the board for a couple of seconds before shaking hands.
Hand #146: Pat Walsh raised to 250,000 on the button and Javed Abrahams folded his big blind.
Hand #147: Abrahams raised to 200,000 on the button and Walsh called from the big blind.
The flop fell and Walsh led out for 375,000. Abrahams raised to 1.225 million, Walsh reraised the pot, and Abrahams reraised all in. Walsh called all in for 4.69 million.

Walsh held the nut straight, but was an underdog to hold up against Abrahams wrap and flush draw. However, the turn and river were no help to Abrahams, locking up the double for Walsh.

Hand #130: Pat Walsh limped in, and Javd Abrahams made it 240,000. Walsh raised pot to 720,000, and Abrahams called. Abrahams check-folded to 1.2 million on the flop.
Hand #131: Abrahams won the pot with a preflop raise on the button.
Hand #132: Walsh limped, Abrahams made it 240,000, and Walsh folded.
Hand #133: Abrahams raised to 165,000 and was call by Walsh. Walsh checked the flop, and Abrahams took the pot with a bet of 160,000.
Hand #134: Walsh min-raised, and Abrahams called. Abrahams bet 275,000 on the flop, Walsh potted it for 1.145 million. Abrahams shoved all in, and Walsh went into the tank for a couple of minutes. The wager was 2.02 million more to him. He made the call after a bit.

Walsh was hoping to have a live draw, but Abrahams had him completely smashed with a higher flush draw and a made straight. Walsh's best hope was a non-club nine, but the turned to leave him dead.
Hand #100: Javed Abrahams raised to 125,000 and Miltiadis Kyriakides called from the small blind. They checked down an board and Kyriakides won the pot with for a straight.
Hand #101: Kyriakides raised to 120,000 on the button and received no action.
Hand #102: Pal Walsh raised to 125,000 on the button and Kyriakides called from the big blind.
The flop came down and Kyriakides check-called 250,000 from Walsh to see the turn. Kyriakides checked, Walsh bet 600,000, Kyriakides check-raised all in for about 1.85 million and Walsh called.

Walsh led with a set of threes and held up through the river to eliminate Kyriakides in third place.
Hand #79: From the button, Miltiadis Kyriakides raised to 120,000 then snap-shoved when Baron reraised in the big blind.

Baron flopped a wrap when hit the board, but the turned, which did nothing. The river left ace-king as the best hand, and the most well-known player left hit the rail in fourth.
Hand #61: Marko Neumann raised to 150,000 and was called by Pat Walsh and Isaac Baron. The three saw a flop, and Neumann bet pot for all 495,000 of his stack.

A turn and river didn't help Neumann catch his opponent's kings, and he busted in fifth.
Hand #53: Isaac Baron received a walk in the big blind.
Hand #54: Miltiadis Kyriakides raised to 100,000 in the hijack, Isaac Baron called in the small blind and Javed Abrahams reraised the pot to 400,000 in the big blind. Both Kyriakides and Baron folded.
Hand #55: Miltiadis Kyriakides raised to 100,000 from under the gun and Isaac Baron called on the button. Matt Marafioti three-bet all in for about 450,000 in the big blind and Kyriakides called. Baron folded.

The flop came down , giving Kyriakides a commanding lead with a king-high flush. Marafioti found no help from the turn or river, ending his run in sixth place.
Hand #41: Miltiadis Kyriakides raised to 80,000. He took down the pot.
Hand #42: Michael Shklover completed from the small blind, and Javed Abrahams potted to 120,000. Shklover called, and the two watched hit the felt. Shklover bet out 240,000, and Abrahams potted, and Shklover called it off.

Abrahams had the lead with his overpair for the moment, but Shklover could hit two pair, trips, or a straight. He did make two pair, but it was the and that ran out to give him jacks up, while Abrahams hit trips.
Hand #35: Miltiadis Kyriakides raised to 80,000 and was called in two spots. On the flop, action checked to Javed Abraham, who bet 130,000. Michal Maryska raised to 300,000, squeezing out Kyriakides, and Abrahams called. The turned, and Maryska moved in and was called.
