Day 2 saw 184 players resume play from a total of 541 entries, and at the end of 10 thrilling hours of poker, only 21 players remain in Event #66: $1,500 Limit Hold'em.

No one else has more chips than David “ODB” Baker, who sits behind an impressive 1,275,000 and who already owns a gold bracelet. Baker also finished third in Event #41 $10,000 Seven Card Stud and is the only player so far to have reached the million mark, more than double than the second biggest stack Ronald Carmona with 488,000.

2017 Player of the Year Chris Ferguson, who started the day with a short stack of 17,500, managed to build his stack throughout the day to bag 361,000. Daniel Negreanu is also still in the race with 206,000.

Many notables had started the day but didn't finish in the money, including David Bach, Rep Porter, Vanessa Kade, Benny Glaser, Louise Francoeur and Jared Mahoney.

The bubble burst in level 15 and after 40 minutes of suspense and many double ups, it was Steve Chanthabouasy who ended up as unfortunate bubble boy, whose elimination made the remaining 82 players very happy and guaranteed them each at least $2,239 as a min-cash. Chanthabouasy pushed his last 5,000 chips in the middle and Brock Parker raised it to 8,000 on the button, making the blinds fold. Chanthabouasy was holding a pair of nines and facing Parker with pocket tens who found a ten on the board to improve his hand into a set and burst the bubble.

The bustouts went fast after that hand, with many players being short stacks and many familiar faces were lost such as Brock Parker himself (81st place - $2,239), Chip Jett (66th place - $2,364), Noah Bronstein (64th place - $2,364) and two-time WSOP bracelet winner Anthony Zinno (62th place - $2,554).

End of the Day Action

Two-time bracelet winner Eric Froehlich was eliminated in 25th place for $4,360 due to a hand against Brian Kim. On a flop {q-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{7-Clubs}, Kim made a continuation bet for 10,000 and Dominzo Love raised it to 20,000. Froehlich reraised it to 30,000 and both Kim and Love called. A {5-Hearts} showed up on the turn and Froehlich led out for 20,000, but only Kim called. The river fell a {3-Diamonds}and Froehlich check-called for his last chips a bet from Kim. Froehlich held {q-Hearts}{2-Hearts} for a pair of queens but Kim had {q-Spades}{k-Hearts} for a better kicker and took down the pot while eliminating Froehlich.

He was followed a few minutes later by Kevin “Racks” Roster who lost a first big pot with a pair of eights against his opponent holding king-queen. Roster had turned a set on a board reading {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{8-Spades} while his opponent had flopped top two pair. But the {k-Clubs} filled up the board to give his opponent kings full of queens. Roster was down to one big blind and busted the very next hand.

Cards will be back in the air at 2 p.m. Monday, July 1st and they will play down to a winner for a gold bracelet and $161,139.

Roster Eliminated

Level 20 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

According to the chatter at the table, Kevin Roster lost a big pot with {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} against his opponent's {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

Roster had turned a set on a board reading {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{8-Spades} and his opponent had flopped top two pair. But the {k-Clubs} filled up the board and while Foster improved his hand to eights full of kings, it was no good against his opponent's kings full of queens.

The very next hand, Roster put his last big blind in the middle with {j-}{9-} but couldn't find any help and was eliminated.
