Death by Quads

Level 18 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Fresh off the bat of a hot run yesterday, Guy Haviv was looking to continue his streak as he raised to 20,000 under the gun. He received two callers, including Yusheng Lin, who defended his big blind.

On a flop of 375, Lin then took the initiative, betting 55,000 before Haviv instantly raised to 143,000. The third player got out of the way, and Lin took his time to think before shoving for not much more.

"I have a set," announced Haviv as he called.

Yusheng Lin: 99 All in
Guy Haviv: 33

As if the set wasn't enough, Haviv rivered quads on the 103 runout to secure the elimination, and continue his sun run.

Jumalon took the lead on the J59 flop, and kept it through to the end of the A5 runout. "And they say it's a skill game," he said, while scooping the pot

Nahum Gets Lucky Against Mason

Level 18 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Erik Mason opened the action with a shove from the hijack, for a total of 85,000. Thomas Bolton then called in the cutoff, before Kfir Nahum cut out a reraise to 200,000. Bolton then folded.

Erik Mason: JJ All in
Kfir Nahum: 1010

Mason was ahead, but still had his phone out, ready to record in case of a bad beat. As if he knew it was coming, he let out a knowing smile as the 9105 flop put his opponent well in the lead. The Q turn improved him to more outs, but they bricked on the 7 river.

"For a triple up, as well!" he said in disbelief as he left the tournament area.
