Donev Loves the Ladies

Stud:

Howard Lederer = {3-Hearts}{5-Spades}{2-Spades}{A-Hearts}
Ivo Donev = {6-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{3-Spades}

Lederer led out on every street, but was caught bluffing on the end when Donev called a final bet of 20,000 to take the pot with {K-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}.

"Nice call," clapped Yuval Bronshtein from the rail, one of few remaining onlookers wathcing with enthusiasm. The players, meanwhile, continue to battle on like Trojan warriors, their focus firmly set on obtaining bracelet gold.

Ladies Kind to Donev

Stud:

Farnood (X) (X) {4-Spades} {2-Hearts} {3-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} (X)

Donev (X) (X) {7-Hearts} {8-Clubs} {J-Hearts} {6-Diamonds} (X)

Sherkhan Farnood brought it in on third street and Ivo Donev called. Donev led out on fourth, fifth, and sixth streets and was called down by Farnood. Both players checked seventh street.

Donev revealed {Q-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} {5-Hearts} in the hole, Farnood mucked, and Donev dragged the pot.

A Slight Bounce-Back for Lederer

Omaha 8:

In a three-way raised pot, the flop came down {K-Spades} {J-Diamonds} {5-Hearts} and the action was checked around. The turn was the {3-Hearts}. Lederer checked, Farnood bet, Donev folded and Lederer called. The river was the {2-Diamonds}. Lederer bet and Farnood called.

Lederer showed {2-Clubs} {4-Spades} {5-Spades} {6-Clubs} for a six-high straight and a 6-5 low. Farnood mucked and Lederer scooped the pot.

Pipped at the Post

Omaha 8:

Ivo Donev has completed a marvelous comeback and now boasts over 300,000 in chips. His latest success was over chip leader Howard Lederer, the Professor turning a flush on a {7-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{2-Clubs} board, but running into the pocket sevens of Donev. Lederer who had been the aggressor right up until the final street, winced as his foe led out, perhaps recognizing that he had indeed been pipped to the post on the river.

Lederer is down to 420,000, but still in good shape.
