Hajek Runs Kings Into Aces

Level 1 : 100/100, 0 ante

On Day 1A the first seat open came after some nine minutes and Day 1B would be even faster, as Jan Hajek was eliminated within the first eight minutes. He got it in preflop against Giuseppe Tedeschi and it was the classic clash of the two best pocket pairs.

Jan Hajek: {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}
Giuseppe Tedeschi: {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}

The board came {J-Spades}{10-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{5-Clubs} and Hajek became the first casualty.

Steinmueller Doesn't "Gamble" Yet

Level 1 : 100/100, 0 ante

On the heads-up turn of {Q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{J-Spades}, Evgeny Medyukha checked out of the big blind and Jonas Steinmueller on the button made it 600 to go, Medyukha called. The {K-Hearts} came on the river and Medyukha now overbet the pot for 5,000. Steinmueller immediately grinned and gave it some thought, checked his cards again.

"No need to gamble this early," he added and sent his cards into the muck. Medyukha first revealed the {A-Clubs} followed by the {9-Hearts} and claimed the pot.

More Familiar Faces on Board

Level 1 : 100/100, 0 ante

Shaun Deeb, Philipp Zukernik and Ondrej Lon jumped in mid-way through the first level of the day and Vlado Sevo followed soon after.

"I will need luck, these guys are sick," Deeb joked on his way to the table. It wasn't difficult for him to find it, as he started in the very same seat on Day 1A as well.

Vougiouklakis Doubles Through Valent

Level 1 : 100/100, 0 ante

Josef Schmalzbauer became the second casualty of Day 1B and Evangelos Vougiouklakis may have very well been the third player to bust, but won a flip against Vladimir Valent.

Valent had dropped a few chips in a multi-way pot against Evgeny Medyukha and then put the Greek at risk with {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} versus {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}. Valent flopped best on {A-Spades}{9-Spades}{9-Clubs}, but the {6-Spades} turn and {10-Spades} river run out gave Vougiouklakis a full house on the river.
