Event #10: €25,500 Mixed Games Championship
Day 1 Started
A new event at the 2019 World Series of Poker Europe is scheduled to kick off at 4 p.m. local time at the King's Resort in Rozvadov and the 10th of 15 coveted gold bracelets will be awarded in Event #10: €25,500 Mixed Games Championship.
A small and elite field is expected to test the skills in eight different poker variants and especially the contenders for the 2019 WSOP Player of the Year leaderboard will likely battle for vital points and the guaranteed prize pool of €1,000,000.
The following games will be played: No-Limit Hold’em; Seven Card Stud; Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better, Razz; Pot-Limit Omaha; Limit Hold’em; Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better; 2-7 Lowball Triple Draw.
All No-Limit Hold'em hands will be played in the new and popular big blind ante format while all other game types remain with their typical structure.
Each participant receives 1,000,000 in chips and unlimited re-entries are available throughout the registration period. Day 1 is scheduled to play a total of 10 levels of 60 minutes each with a 15-minute break every two levels. The registration closes at the start of Day 2, which is currently foreseen to kick off on Tuesday, October 22nd, at 3 p.m. local time.
Whether or not the event plays down to a champion in three days remains to be seen, and the PokerNews team will be on the floor from start to finish to provide all the action.
Many interested players for the €25,500 Mixed Games Championship are still in contention in Event #8: €25,500 Platinum High Roller No-Limit Hold'em or Event #9: €1,650 Pot-Limit Omaha/No-Limit Hold'em Mix, and as a result the start of Day 1 has been delayed by at least one hour.
Tournament officials have confirmed that Day 1 is likely scheduled to start at 5.30 p.m. local time. This may have an influence on the number of levels played for the first of three tournament days.
The registered players were discussing the situation with the tournament floor and the action is expected to start shortly. So far, Sam Higgs, Phil Hui, Julien Martini, and Viktor Blom are registered.
