Orpen Kisacikoglu Leads Final Seven in Event #6: €25,500 Short Deck High Roller

A promising 65 entries after Day 1 set the pace for frantic action in the first two levels of Day 2 in Event #6: €25,500 Short Deck High Roller No-Limit Hold'em and the field size was nearly doubled in Europe's biggest poker arena at the King's Casino and Resort in Rozvadov. Once all entries and re-entries were no longer accepted, a field of 111 entries had emerged, consisting of 61 unique players and 50 re-entries.

This surpassed the guaranteed prize pool and the top 17 spots share a portion of €2,636,250 with High Roller regulars and Short Deck aficionados from near and far taking a shot at the second-ever WSOP bracelet in the game type that has gained a lot of popularity in the poker world throughout the last few years. Ultimately, only seven players remained in contention for the next 2019 World Series of Poker Europe gold bracelet as the action concluded once the unofficial final table was reached.

Four players have 140 antes or more at their disposal and it was Orpen Kisacikoglu that jumped into the lead after a late surge on the outer table, claiming 22,925,000 to his name. The High Roller and Super High Roller regular from Turkey, who currently resides in London, is followed by fellow big stacks Netanel Amedi (22,300,000), Day 1 chip leader Besim Hot (21,600,000) and Siamak Tooran (20,925,000). Tooran was one of many Day 2 entries and scored several early double ups during the minefield of the re-entry period to reach the final seven.

Jonathan Depa also has some Pot-Limit Omaha Short Deck experience and remained among the bigger stacks throughout the day to bag 12,925,000. Thai Ha (6,275,000) and Dusk Till Dawn's Rob Yong (3,700,000) will be the two short stacks for the final day when the action resumes with 17 minutes left in level 20, which features an ante of 150,000 and a button double ante of 300,000.

Frantic Early Action; Wu Bubbles

Anyone that has followed the Short Deck live streams from Triton Poker knows how incredibly fast-paced the action can be and the re-entry period did not disappoint, as the all-in showdowns came in waves every other minute. Many High Roller regulars took a shot via late entry and left without anything to show for such as Alex Foxen, Koray Aldemir, the "captain" Tony G, Chin Wei Lim, Ryan Riess, Cary Katz, Mikita Badziakouski and Ben Lamb.

The Triton Poker founders Paul Phua and Richard Yong were also eliminated before the money and it was Yake Wu that ended up as the bubble boy. Among the shorter stacks, Wu got it in with ace-queen and was called by Renato Nowak with king-ten suited. Despite hitting top pair on the flop, Wu came up short as Nowak went runner-runner to hit a straight.

Negreanu, Ivey and Sammartino Miss Out on Final Table

It didn't take long to reach the final two tables and among the big names to bust early in the money was Daniel Negreanu. The six-time WSOP bracelet winner put his hopes on king-jack suited and Rob Yong looked him up with ace-queen. Neither player hit anything on a ten-high board and that spelled the end for Negreanu.

King's Casino owner Leon Tsoukernik was among the big stacks in the early stages but his full house with jack-ten was no good against the queens full of Netanel Amedi.

Phil Ivey stuck around with a short stack once the bubble had burst and doubled twice but he eventually ran out of chips in 9th place. Only a few minutes ago, Ivey had doubled through Siamak Tooran with quads but the second clash with the German didn't work out as smoothly. Ivey got it in with ace-queen versus ace-eight and an eight appeared on the flop.

Last but not least it was 2019 WSOP Main Event runner-up Dario Sammartino that missed out on the unofficial final table when he ran his pocket jacks right into the aces of Besim Hot. That concluded the second day as an additional third day was added to the schedule in order to showcase the Short Deck action on the PokerGo live stream on Sunday, October 20th, 2019.

Stay tuned to find out who will claim the coveted gold bracelet, as the PokerNews team will provide all the action of the final day.
