The RunGood Poker Series Destination: Council Bluffs Main Event has seen its first flight of play conclude at The Horseshoe Casino. This first flight saw an impressive 216 entrants come out for their shot at a bag and a piece of the $200,000 guaranteed prizepool. After the dust settled, just 27 players remained with their hopes intact while all others will have to fire one of the following flights.
Leading the way is Logan Cate who ended their day with 507,000 after being involved in many hands throughout the day and picking up a nice chunk when he busted Nick Barksdale near the bubble. Hot on his heels is Tyler Klumb with 487,000 and in third for Day 1a is Kenneth Coy with 485,000.

They will have ample opportunity to play the following two flights tomorrow in their quest to take the title.
Play ended today with 22:46 left in Level 16 with blinds at 4,000/8,000 and a 8,000 big blind ante. This will be the level that the players return to unless one of the following flights, which are scheduled for noon and 6 p.m. tomorrow.

With the elimination of Taylor Howard, the surviving 27 players have bagged up to return on Sunday for Day 2.
Taylor Howard moved all in for his last 55,000 and was immediately called by Casey Paprocki to put him at risk.
Taylor Howard: Q♠J♠
Casey Paprocki: A♣K♦
Howard needed some help to stay alive, and he got some on the Q♦8♥4♥ flop, but the turn was the A♠ to swing the lead back to Paprocki. The river fell the 2♦ to change nothing and Howard was sent to the rail on the stone bubble.
