Tank for the Pay Jump

Level 26 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Hugo Machado had already contributed 175,000 to the pot when Virgile Turchi shoved all in from under the gun. With only 40,000 remaining, Hugo entered a lengthy tank, prompting a call for time and the floor man's intervention.

At that juncture, with only 40 players remaining and a pay jump on the line, the floor man initiated a countdown for Machado's last 30 seconds. Machado waited until the final moment to push the rest of his stack in.

Hugo Machado: A6All in
Virgile Turchi: K8

While the 237 flop seemed promising for Machado, the turn revealed the K, and there was no assistance from the 5 river.

Regrettably, Machado's prolonged decision-making didn't alter his fate as he exited in 40th place.

Machado Jams into the Nuts; De Necker Triple Barrel Bluff Backfires

Level 26 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

In the dying embers of the previous level, Virgile Turchi opened to 80,000 from under the gun and called when Hugo Machado three-bet to 200,000 from the button.

Action checked through to the river for the final board to read K97A6. Turchi, with just under 1,000,000, checked and snap-called when Machado jammed as the bigger stack.

Machado had AA but played the flush on the board, while Turchi had the nuts with AQ. Macahdo was left short and was eliminated shortly after.

As that hand played out, Ankit Ahuja felted Pieter De Necker on another table. The latter limped in from under the gun and Ahuja checked his option from the big blind.

De Necker, fired bets on the flop and turn, and ripped it in on the river on the K2437 board. Ahuja called as the bigger stack. De Necker had 5x5x, while Ahuja had the winner with KQ.
