Lane Gets One Through

Level 27 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Deven Lane
Deven Lane

Anthony Potis limped in early position before the action made it to Zacharie Desautels in the small blind who called and the Deven Lane checked his option in the big blind.

The 10x10x5x rainbow board landed and it checked to Potis who put out a small bet. It was back on Desautels who put in a raise and without wasting much time, Lane put in a three-bet.

Both of his opponents gave it a think but eventually found a fold and Lane promptly tabled the Q6 for the stone cold bluff with a smile.

Taylor Cools Off Collette

Level 27 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

The action folded to Louis Pierre Daniel Collette on the button who moved all in covering the blinds. It was then on Christopher Taylor in the blinds who had just lost a few pots and was sitting short. He made the call for his tournament life and the cards hit their backs.

Christopher Taylor: AJ All in
Louis Pierre Daniel Collette: AJ

The 9J9 flop landed giving both players a sweat for the flush. The 5 turn was even sweatier and the miracle 7 river gave Taylor the double and new life after getting the exact run out he needed.

The action folded to Deven Lane in the small blind who opened to 250,000 before Louis Pierre Daniel Collette moved all in from the big blind. Lane took a moment but flicked in a call fairly quickly.

The cards hit their backs with Collette all in and at risk.

Louis Pierre Daniel Collette: A5 All in
Deven Lane: KQ

The full board ran out J8K38 and Collette would fall in fourth at the hands of Lane.

It should be noted that right before this hand the players came to an agreement on an ICM chop. Ten percent was left to the side for the eventual winner but Collette was able to gain about an extra $8,000 from the actual 4th place prize.

Deven Lane had just lost a chip-lead pot to Christopher Taylor the hand before when his queens could not hold against the turned flush of Taylor.

They both got all the chips in the middle to put Lane at risk.

Deven Lane: A10 All in
Christopher Taylor: QQ

The full board ran out 2JQ10A and the two pair would fall to the set to send Lane to the rail in third.

*Lane was the chip leader when the chop occurred and got the highest payout from the ICM Chop.
