Satoshi Isomae Eliminated in 5th Place ($949,937)

Level 24 : 350,000/700,000, 85,000 ante
Satoshi Isomae Eliminated in 5th Place
Satoshi Isomae Eliminated in 5th Place

It all started rather innocent with a cutoff raise to 1.54 million by Stoyan Madanzhiev and Satoshi Isomae then three-bet out of the small blind to 4,483,500, which Madanzhiev called.

They headed to the {j-Spades}{9-Spades}{5-Clubs} flop on which Isomae continued for 11,605,800 into a pot of 10,092,000 and was called.

No betting action followed on the {7-Hearts} turn and Isomae then moved all in for 23,411,295 on the {6-Spades} river. Without using his allotted time bank, Madanzhiev called and Isomae tabled {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} for a stone cold bluff.

Madanzhiev had flopped two pair with {j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and earned the huge pot, sending Isomae out in 5th place for $949,937.

Madanzhiev Leaves Ward Short

Level 24 : 350,000/700,000, 85,000 ante

Thomas Ward raised the button to 1.4 million and was called by Stoyan Madanzhiev, who came along from the big blind.

Both players checked the {j-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{5-Hearts} flop and Madanzhiev then led the {8-Hearts} turn for 3.575 million, which Ward called.

On the {9-Clubs} river, Madanzhiev bet 10.725 million and Ward folded with fewer than that behind.

Joao Santos Eliminated in 6th Place ($666,636)

Level 24 : 350,000/700,000, 85,000 ante
Santos Elimination
Santos Elimination

Tyler Rueger min-raised in the cutoff and Joao Santos jammed for just over 9 million in the big blind. Rueger was ready with a quick call holding {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} and dominated the {a-Hearts}{2-Spades} of Santos.

The {j-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{4-Hearts} brought quite a bit of equity for Santos as he picked up a gutter and could also survive if the board paired again. However, it was a {7-Spades} ending his tournament run.

Cards Back in the Air for the Final Six

Level 24 : 350,000/700,000, 85,000 ante

The action has recommended and the first hand back from the extended break saw Tyler Rueger with a successful preflop three-bet against chip leader Stoyan Madanzhiev to earn the pot.

Ward Doubles Through Santos

Level 24 : 350,000/700,000, 85,000 ante
Ward Doubles Through Santos
Ward Doubles Through Santos

As the shortest stack of the remaining six players, Thomas Ward moved all in for 7,804,480 in the cutoff and the second-shortest stack Joao Santos reshoved from one seat over on the button for 14,170,618 in order to isolate successfully.

Thomas Ward: {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}
Joao Santos: {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}

Ward had the best of it preflop and both suits covered, too. Nothing at all changed on the {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}{4-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} board to let the Kiwi double.

Stefan Schillhabel Eliminated in 7th Place ($467,825)

Level 24 : 350,000/700,000, 85,000 ante
Stefan Schillhabel
Stefan Schillhabel

Wenling Gao raised to 1,400,000 in second position and to her left, Stefan Schillhabel reraised to 7,988,052. Back on Gao, she four-bet and Schillhabel called all in for 2,100,000 more.

Stefan Schillhabel: {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Wenling Gao: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

Schillhabel was a small favorite with the pair before the flop but became a very small dog after the {4-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{7-Clubs} flop.

The {k-Clubs} turn sealed it for Gao with the nut flush, making the {5-Spades} river merely one for the statistics. The German high roller received $467,825 for finishing seventh in this event.

Tyler Cornell Eliminated in 8th Place ($328,305)

Level 24 : 350,000/700,000, 85,000 ante
Tyler Cornell Eliminated in 8th Place
Tyler Cornell Eliminated in 8th Place

Stoyan Madanzhiev continued his domination and raked in several pots but in a rare hand that did not feature him, it was Tyler Rueger instead that was the first to get involved. Rueger min-raised to 1.4 million as second player to act and one seat over, Tyler Cornell then moved all in for 4,796,374 in total.

The action folded back to Rueger who made the call and created the next all-in showdown.

Tyler Cornell: {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}
Tyler Rueger: {q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}

Cornell was ahead but fell behind on the {q-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} flop. The {k-Diamonds} turn provided more outs with an additional gutshot but the {8-Hearts} river was not what he was looking for. Rueger prevailed with queens and nines, sending Cornell to the rail in 8th place for $328,305.
