James Chen is an American poker player with over $750,000 in live tournament earnings.
In June 2023, at the World Series of Poker (WSOP), Chen recorded the biggest payout of his career, finishing in second place in the $10,000 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship for $304,571.
The following summer at the WSOP, he was able to go one better and picked up his maiden WSOP bracelet after reigning supreme in the $1,500 edition of the Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better.
“It’s great,” the Pittsburgh resident said, surrounded by a large rail of supportive friends. “I play Omaha and the different variants. I primarily play cash games, but at The World Series, I usually just play tournaments.”
“Last year to come so close was disappointing, but this year to get it done was amazing. It was fun; cards were hitting. I made a lot of hands and it was great.”
