Table 9 Busy Early

David Sebesfi

Three players saw a flop of A64 and it checked to David Sebesfi who bet 10,000. Adrian Sportelli was the only caller.

The turn was the A and Sebesfi check-called 25,000 and the river was the K.

Sebesfi checked and Sportelli bet 75,000. Sebesfi then check-raised to 225,000.

"Ace-king or pocket kings," said Sportelli. "Would you bet ace-king on the river? Or would you check it to me?"

He continued the thinking out loud.

"Surely you wouldn't raise a flush on the river? Wow. Really? I'm not folding this hand bro."

Eventually Sportelli called and was shown the AK for a rivered full house by his opponent. Sportelli turned over 66 for an inferior full house.

Welcome back to Doltone House Western Sydney at Club Marconi for Day 2 of the Australian Poker Open Main Event.

Now that registration has closed, the prize pool has been confirmed and 68 players are through to Day 2, it's time to play down to a final table of nine.

Leading the way is Day 1f chip leader Sayed Jabbour, ahead of Day 1g chip leader Georgina Vuksanovic. The rest of the top 10 chip counts all came from the last two starting flights, with the exceptions of Daniel Tolomeo (Day 1b) and Michael O'Grady (Day 1e)

Today sees the blinds roll back to the earliest end of a starting flight. This means that while Day 1g finished at 6,000/12,000, we will return to 2,000/5,000 with chip leaders sitting with excess of 200 big blinds.

That means a long day is in store, made easier by the fact that payouts have been confirmed. All players who made it through to Day 2 received $5,000, with a min-cash today worth an additional $1,500.

Full payouts are available in the Payouts tab, but here are the amounts for the final table of the 2024 APO Main Event.
