On the latest episode of the PokerNews Podcast sponsored by WPT Global, Chad Holloway, Connor Richards, and Matt Hansen recap the recently-completed Borgata Winter Open, acknowledge the Anthony Zinno allegations, and dive into the PokerGO Cup.
It was there that Connor chatted with Cody Daniels, who despite severe health issues ventured to Las Vegas to live his dream of playing a high-stakes tournament. Not only did he play, but he made the final table! The crew then ventured across the street to a Bally's Live high-stakes cash game where we grabbed interviews with Daniel Cates, Mike Watson, Dylan Weisman, and Dylan DeStefano.
Finally, they take a look ahead to both the Celebrity Poker Tour Invitational II and CSOP "All in for Epilepsy" on Feb. 8, as well as Leigh Steinberg's 37th Annual Super Bowl Party, which PokerNews will attend. Hear the crew's Super Bowl picks, and find out where you might be able to cross paths with one of the teams after the big game.
John 24 had raised to 1,000 from under the gun and was called by an opponent before Stipe Orec produced a three-bet to 3,600 on the button. Both his opponents called.
The 10♠Q♦10♥ was checked through by all three players.
The 6♥ turn was checked to Orec, who put out a bet of 2,000. Only John 24 called.
The 8♠ river was checked through. Orec showed J♠J♦ for a pair of jacks but his opponent had 9♣10♣ for a set of tens.
Marko Strbac opened to 900 from the button and was called by Zoran Stojanovic in the small blind and an opponent in the big blind.
On the 5♠6♠9♦ Stojanovic led out with a bet of 5♠6♠9♦. The big blind folded and Strbac called.
On the 7♣ turn Stojanovic continued with a bet of 3,200, which led to a reluctant fold from Strbac, while flashing the 9♣. Stojanovic showed the 9♣ and raked in the pot.
