Sue!

Clearly not Sue
Clearly not Sue
Thank you to Greg Mueller's railers for clarifying that when they cry, "Sue!" at Mueller, it is signifying that they believe it to be "sweet" or "excellent" that he has won a pot; NOT, as previously thought, that they are alluding to some shady feminine alter-ego.

Pezzin Loozzin' Chips

After a good few hours as our chip leader, Pat Pezzin is now our short stack, and getting shorter.
He limped in on the small blind and Chad Brown checked his option; they saw an {A-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} {A-Diamonds} flop.

Pezzin bet out and Brown called, so they saw an {8-Diamonds} turn too. Pezzin now eased off the gas and merely check-called, as he did on the {10-Hearts} river.

Brown tabled {A-Spades} {4-Diamonds} however, and, unable to beat it, Pezzin mucked.

Pezzin: 700,000
Brown: 3.5 million

Brown Gets Bigger

No messing about since they went three-handed.

Most recently, Greg Mueller raised his button and Chad Brown called in the big blind.

Brown check-called a bet on the {10-Spades} {8-Clubs} {A-Hearts} flop, but come the {Q-Spades} turn he check-raised instead. Mueller gave it up, and the pot was Brown's, boosting that Brown stack even further.

Daniel Alaei Eliminated in 4th Place ($134,733)

Nooo! Don't take my chips away!
Nooo! Don't take my chips away!
Daniel Alaei raised from the button and Greg Mueller flat-called in the big blind.

Come the {Q-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} flop, Mueller bet out. Alaei raised, Mueller reraised and Alaei called all in for his very last 35,000.

Mueller: {10-Clubs} {8-Diamonds}
Alaei: {A-Spades} {8-Clubs}

Turn: {7-Spades}
River: {10-Spades}

Greg Mueller's railers all cried out something shrill that sounded like "Sue" -- something they've been doing every time he wins a hand since late last night. The media are astounded that none of the other players have complained yet.

Either way, Alaei is bust, and Mueller is up to 1.6 million.

Mueller Mullered

Battle of the big stacks now (hard as it is to keep track, they're that all over the place), as Greg Mueller raised from the cutoff and got a call from Chad Brown defending his big blind.

Brown checked the {7-Clubs} {9-Clubs} {7-Hearts} flop but then raised to a bet from Mueller. Mueller called. Brown led out on the {2-Clubs} turn and {Q-Diamonds} river and got flat-called on both streets; when Brown turned over {A-Clubs} {9-Hearts}, Mueller merely flashed the {9-Diamonds} and dropped down to 1.35 million.

Brown very definitely remains our chip leader -- he's up to 2.6 million.

Alaei Headed for the Basement

Short stack Daniel Alaei has become shorter still.

He raised his button up and got a call from Greg Mueller in the big blind. They checked the {8-Clubs} {4-Hearts} {5-Clubs} flop and Alaei tried a bet on the {10-Diamonds} turn but Mueller called. They both checked the {9-Diamonds} river, and Mueller flipped over {J-Spades} {9-Hearts}, which was apparently good.

Alaei: in the 375,000 dungeon
Mueller: in the 1.85 million penthouse

World Champions Have All the Fun

Incidentally Greg Raymer has just appeared, and rather than lurking at the rail and shouting as most folks who have a buddy at final table do, he strolled right past the barrier and up to the table to chat to Chad Brown. Look like if you're a world champion, you get to do anything you like. Must be nice...
