Event 55 - $10,000 World Championship No Limit Holdem
Day 2b completed

Play Concludes for the Evening

Day 2b has ended for the evening. The players are currently bagging up their chips. Approximately 459 players survived, and they will meet the 349 players who made it through yesterday's Day 2a in tomorrow's Day 3 -- which will be the first time in the tournament that all remaining entrants are playing under the same roof, at the same time. There is officially 37:43 remaining in Level 11, and the tournament clock will resume from that point at the start of play tomorrow at 12 noon local time. The players will be "in the money" in the early stages of play tomorrow. Stay with PokerNews.com as we bring you all the action live, until a champion is crowned.

Dicken Keeps His Opponent Honest

Darrell "Gigabet" Dicken
Darrell "Gigabet" Dicken
A late-position player raised to 8,000. Darrell Dicken, who was on the button, reraised to 21,000 and his opponent made the call.

The flop came down {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{8-Spades}. The late-position player checked, Dicken bet 25,000 and was called. The turn brought the {3-Clubs}. Dicken's opponent led out for 15,000 and Dicken promptly called. The river came the {7-Diamonds}. The late-position player fired again, this time 35,000. Dicken made the call. The players showed...

Dicken: {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}
Opponent: {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}

Both players had ace-high, but Darrell's queen kicker was second-best. His opponent took down the pot and left "Gigabet" with only 105,000.

And Imper1um Comes Back

{K-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{J-Spades}

A player in middle position raises to 2,300 and a player next to him reraises to 7,300. The button calls and Sorel "Imper1um" Mizzi in the small blind makes it 32,500. Only the button calls. On the flop, the button moves in with 10-10 and Mizzi calls with A-A. He busts the player and moves back up to 410,000.

Imper1um's Chips Cut Down

Board: {2-Spades}{J-Spades}{7-Clubs}{K-Spades}{9-Clubs}

Preflop, a player in the cutoff raises to 8,000 and the small blind calls. Sorel "Imper1um" Mizzi in the big blind raises 26,000 more. The cutoff is all in for 60,600 more. The small blind folds and Imper1um calls with {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}. The opponent has {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}. The king on the turn means that Imper1um's opponent doubles up. Mizzi now has 330,000.

Chad Brown Acts to Win

Chad Brown
Chad Brown
Actor/ poker pro and 2006 "Bluff" Player of the Year Chad Brown has steadily been building his stack all day. He is up to over 300,000 in chips. He must be taking his own advice, having just released a book titled "Act to Win at Texas Hold'em." (Available at BluffMagazine.com.)

Anyone Have the Time?

Players appear to be stalling to avoid their blinds, so cries of, "Clock, I need a clock!" are being heard across the room.

Gus and His Big Stack

Gus Hansen
Gus Hansen
Gus Hansen is playing some of the best poker of his career. He has already had great success this year, winning the Aussie Millions at the Crown Casino in Australia, and is putting on a clinic at the moment with his big stack. We caught up with Gus earlier in the day, where he discussed how to play the big stack. Check out our Video Gallery at PokerNews.com to see the full interview.

J.C. Tran Doubles Up With Aces

J.C. Tran
J.C. Tran
J.C. Tran, playing from under the gun, raised to 6,300. An early-position player, who had Tran covered, reraised to 17,000 and Tran made the call. The two took a flop heads-up...

{J-Spades}{9-Spades}{5-Diamonds}

Tran checked and his opponent bet 25,000. Tran raised to 60,000 total and his opponent instantly declared: "All in." Tran called his remaining 88,000 and the players turned up their cards...

Tran: A-A
Opponent: K-K

The turn and river helped neither player and J.C. Tran took down the pot and is now working with 212,000 in chips.
