End-of-Day-2 Chip Counts Released

Revised chip counts have now been released for the 13 survivors of Day 2 action in Event 47, $,500 Seven-Card Stud Hi/Low. The 13 were unable to make it down to the eight-player final before calling it at night, setting the stage for a lengthy Day 3. The overnight leader is Jonas Klausen at 346,000 in chips, with the 13 players in chip-count order as follows:

Play Suspended

The tournament staff have decided to suspend play here at the end of Level 18, as it is already 3:20am. Jonas Klausen is the chip leader of the 13 remaining players. With the next level scheduled for limits of 8,000 and 16,000, it's definitely anyone's tournament. The players will come back tomorrow afternoon starting at 3pm Pacific time to play down to the final eight, then most likely take a short break before playing all the way to the champion.

Ryan Hughes Nearly Out

Ryan Hughes completes with the bring-in, and Margaret Macre and Dave Brooker call with and , respectively.

On seventh, it's checked to Macre who bets. Brooker calls and Hughes lays it down.

Macre shows for the straight and scoops. Hughes is knocked down to 33,000.

Short Stacks Hanging On

Play has really ground down here in the last hour or so. Mike Hefer, Tim D'Alessandro, Ron Long, and Ryan Hughes have all managed to extend their tournaments just in the past 20 minutes. Nobody is really "out of the woods," but with play proceeding cautiously, the shorties might be around for a while.

Hoang Ta Eliminated in 14th ($8,168)

Hoang Ta is all in on third street with a showing for 15,500. Both Ryan Hughes with a and Ron Long with a call.

Tough Beat for Hughes

Ryan Hughes must have known he was in trouble when James Richburg made an open pair of aces on fourth street against the of Hughes. He elected to go to the river anyway, calling bets from Richburg the whole way. Richburg turned over an ace and two sevens in the hole at the end, for a full house, aces full of sevens. Hughes couldn't come up with a low.

Hefer Crippled

Mike Hefer is in serious danger of elimination after a recent brush with chip leader Jonas Klausen. Klausen was the bring-in with the , but by the end of the hand he had come up with a 7-6 for low and a pair of sevens for high. Hefer couldn't beat either and had to muck his hand. The two players also dragged Joshua Feldman all the way to sixth street with them, so it was a pretty nice scoop for Klausen. He's now sitting on about 370,000 in chips, while Hefer drops to just 18,000.

Richburg shows a seven for two pair and Hughes is down to his last 16,000. Two hands later, though, he scoops a three-way pot with Q-Q-9-9 and triples up to 48,000.

Mickey Seagle Eliminated in 15th Place ($6,237)

As the night gets long and the hour grows late, the short stacks are getting pretty short here in the Brasilia Room. Mickey Seagle found himself all in after fourth street against Alessio Isaia. Both players were four to a low, Seagle with 6-5-4-2 and Isaia with 8-6-3-2. Isaia caught an ace, an eight and a three on his last three cards to make an 8-6 low and two pair, eights and threes. Seagle caught a king, a five and a ten to miss his low and finish with a pair of fives.

Seagle will collect $6,237. We are now just six eliminations from ending the day.
