The Man. The Mechanic. The legend that is Leo Boxell!
With a record that stretches back even further than 1998, Boxell has achieved so much in poker. He won the 2000 Crown Australian Poker Championships (the predecessor to the Aussie Millions) and then made the final table of the 2003 Aussie Millions, finishing runner-up to England's Peter Costa.
Fast forward to 2009. Boxell continued rack up the results, but his biggest since 2003 - a sixth-place finish in the 2009 APPT Sydney Grand Final - put him back in business and then he consolidated that with victory in the 2010 Aussie Millions $550 PokerPro Seven Card Stud event.
Later that year, he made the final table of the APPT Auckland Main Event, finishing ninth and now, he's picked up a second Aussie Millions championship gold ring by taking down this title tonight.
Naturally, Wally the Wombat was on hand to hold up the winning cards after his overnight camp-out inside Boxell's chip bag, but we should also give a special shout-out to his number one fan - his wife Beverly, who has been by his side all the way in every event he's played.
Congratulations Leo - a great win for the old school - now go and show those kids how to party!

Not long after the introduction of David Gorr to the appreciative crowd, many of Australia's "old school" crowded around to watch the closing stages of the heads-up battle of the 2011 Aussie Millions $2,200 No Limit Hold'em Six Handed event.
And they got there just in time for the final hand of the night. Simon Charette raised to 50,000 from the button before Leo Boxell reraised to 150,000. Charette snap-shoved for 997,000 and Boxell insta-called.

- no help to either hand; Boxell was still out in front, but Charette had hope with the gutshot straight draw.
Turn: 
- BINK! There it was! The crowd groaned, but were determined to see Boxell get over the line. "Jack!" they cried.
River: 
- BOOOOOOOOM! The jack-ball hit and just like that, Leo Boxell scores his second consecutive Aussie Millions title!
Nothing can, or should, be taken away from Simon Charette though, as he played a fine tournament. And let's face it, AUD $75,600 is nothing to be sneezed at. Congratulations to all - let's wrap this up, people!

Although Simon Charette managed to double up to bring the chip counts back to almost even, Leo Boxell continues to keep winning pots as this heads-up battle continues.
However, all that was interrupted after a newly-crowned Aussie Millions Main Event Champion tried to sneak into the room, but as anyone will tell you, news travels fast.
"Ladies and gentlemen, look who's just walked into the room," the tournament director announced over the PA, "It's Melbourne's own, DAVID GORR!" The entire poker room was devoid of the sound of clacking chips and filled with thousands of people clapping and cheering the new champion. Gorr was flooded by dozens of friends and well-wishers and already, the champagne is flowing up at the Vegas Bar!

Simon Charette took another hit to his stack from Leo Boxell, but has just doubled through him to bring the chip counts back to almost even in this heads-up battle.
Earlier, Charette raised from the button before the flop and Boxell called before they both checked down the flop and turn of 
before Boxell fired out 40,000 on the river of the . Charette thought about it long and hard once more before sending his hand into the muck.
Left with just under 600,000 in chips, Charette shipped them into the middle in the very next hand after Boxell limped in from the button. Boxell snap-called, showing against Charette's 
, which hit on the flop of before improving to a flush after the turn and river ran out ,

Leo Boxell has won most of the small pots that we've seen so far, but he's now moved further into the chip lead against Simon Charette after a massive hand that played out moments before the break.
Charette raised from the button before the flop to 37,000, however Boxell reraised to 100,000 from the big blind. Charette flat-called, then both players checked down the flop of 
and the turn of the before Charette fired out 75,000 on the river of the 
.
Boxell deliberated, then raised another 200,000. Charette's eyes widened in disbelief. "How much was the raise?" he asked the dealer. "200,000," was the reply.
Charette thought about it for almost three minutes before making the call, but mucked after Boxell revealed 
for the full house! Charette is looking rather forlon, now sitting on a stack around 650,000 while Boxell is close to 1.5 million.
And if the result of the 2011 Aussie Millions Main Event is anything to go by, Australia's "old school" will be in for a huge party tonight if Boxell also takes this title, after Melbourne's own David Gorr battled back and defeated England's James Keys heads-up for the AUD $2,000,000 first prize!
