Event 1: $560 $1 Million Guaranteed Deep-Stack NLHE Reentry
Day 1c Completed
After another starting flight saw 15 levels fly by, a total of 885 entries and recorded during Day 1c of Event 1 here at the Borgata Spring Poker Open. Sporting a $560 buy-in and a $1 million guaranteed prize pool, this tournament attracted 359 entries for Day 1a, while yesterday's second starting flight brought 469 more. With 1,713 entries recorded thus far, and the Borgata Poker Room swelling with additional tournament tables to accommodate overflow, the guarantee is sure to be smashed within the next few hours, as Day 1d runs throughout the rest of this evening.
By the time chips were bagged and tagged it was Matt O'Flynn who topped the counts with 315,500, while Philip Neiman ran a close second with 282,500. Other players to bag big stacks after 15 levels of play include Max Anjadi (276,000), Krzysztof Perka (268,500), Melissa Burr (266,000), Sergei Rylkov (265,000), Walt Jones (259,000), and Matt Cooper (250,000).
Notable players, local legends and touring pros who ended the night with a Day 2 stack include Darren Elias (199,000), Paris Borden (199,000), Kenny Nguyen (132,000), and Ted Goldbergh (91,000).
Unfortunately for players like Micah Raskin, Cherish Andrews, Joseph Stiers, Anna Khait, Jason Rivkin, Brian Ali and Timothy Little, the day was not as kind and they hit the rail after firing one or more bullets. Raskin in particular suffered through yet another rough patch, recording at least three reentries to bring his total above 10 for the entire tournament.
Along the way a true chip-and-a-chair story developed, as Gerard Kane (114,500) managed to mount a furious comeback after falling all the way to 1,200 chips midway through the day.
With Day 1d now underway and running through the wee hours of the morning, be sure to follow all of the action as PokerNews proudly reports live from the floor of the Borgata Spring Poker Open.

The tournament staff just announced that three more hands at each table will be dealt, with bagging and tagging to occur immediately after.
Stay tuned for as many final chip counts as we can gather during the scrum.
With just one more level left to play in Day 1c, a clash of premium pocket pairs just led to audible gasps and commotion from the table directly in front of the PokerNews Live Reporting desk.
Apparently Joel Fishman opened for the minimum raise of 8,000, which was followed by a three-bet jam from a player who held .
Fishman snapped the bet off with his , and in a flash the dealer was burning and turning.
Flop:
Just like that Fishman's cowboys had been gunned down by his opponent's lucky ladies. When the turn came it appeared Fishman would be heading home with a disappointing exit late in the day. That's when the fireworks started.
River:
When the river brought a third king to the board, everyone at the table broke out in cheers (except the unfortunate victim of the beat of course), shocked at the see-saw turn of events.
Fishman doubled through to keep himself in contention for a deep Day 2 run.

A quick scan of the Borgata Poker Room showed that both Anna Khait and Cherish Andrews have been eliminated late on Day 1c.
Andrews was seen tapping the table in acknowledgment before standing to depart from the table, while Khait was busily texting away nearby.
Both players will likely be back for tonight's fourth and final starting flight, which kicks off in just under one hour.
