Pokerstars.com London EPT4 Champion: Joseph Mouawad

The online qualifier becomes the first man from Lebanon to ever win an EPT title and takes home £611,520.

He almost decided not to play the event when his traveling companions canceled their trip. “My friends are following the action from home instead. They’re very excited.”

Mouawad is married with three children and is a real estate developer from Beirut. He began playing poker nearly 15 years ago, but only took up Texas Hold’em two years ago when it became popular in his local casino.

This was 47 year old's first ever major final table.

Langmann raises 100,000. Mouawad calls, flop comes {6-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}. Langmann bets 150,000 and Mouawad moves all-in. Langmann dwells up and then calls.

Langmann shows {8-Spades}{9-Spades} and Mouawad shows {Q-Clubs}{3-Clubs}. The turn brings the {Q-Spades} and the river {8-Clubs}.

Turn {8-Hearts} and a 110,000 bet by Langmann is called.

River {7-Diamonds} and Langmann bets 300,000. Mouawad calls.

Langmann has only King high. Mouawad made the call with just one pair, sevens which he hit on the last card.

A 50,000 bet from Mouawad is called.

Turn {4-Hearts} Both players check.

River {6-Hearts} and 100,000 bet from Langmann. Mouawad asks for a count of his remaining chips and is told the German has 760,000 left. Mouawad obviously considering a raise decided to just call.

They both turn over the same hand. Sixes and Threes for two pair.

Turn is the {10-Diamonds} and Mouawad checks, Langmann fires 150,000 and Mouawad raises another 280,000, Langmann folds.

Mouawad Tightens His Grip

Mouawad raises to 150,000 and Langmann calls the additional 110,000. The flop comes {6-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{J-Hearts}.

Langmann checks and Mouawad bets 210,000. Langmann re-raises an additional 240,000 and Mouawad moves all in and Langmann quickly folds.

The Pokerstars.com qualifier from Lebanon has been getting much the better of the early heads-up exchanges and is looking very comfortable. He now has close to a 3:1 chip lead.
