WPT Announces Partnership with Europe-Bet.com; Three Events in Tbilisi for 2015

The World Poker Tour (WPT) has been making plenty of deals in recent months. First, they named Hublot the official watch of the WPT, as well as title sponsor of the Player of the Year race. Next, Ourgame obtained exclusive WPT rights to more than a dozen countries throughout Asia. Now, the WPT has announced another partnership, this time with Europe-Bet.com, who now hold exclusive rights to the WPT brand in Georgia.

As a part of the deal, two WPT National events will be held in the capital city of Tbilisi in 2015, as will a Main Tour stop. Europe-Bet.com, which was founded in 2010 and has established itself as the largest independent operator in the Georgian regulated gaming market, will also have the right to distribute the WPT television show, merchandise, and more.

"Following our announcement with Ourgame in Asia, this new arrangement marks the continued expansion of the WPT global licensing initiative, expanding the tour like never before," said WPT President Adam Pliska. "Europe-Bet.com is committed to the long-term growth of poker in Georgia and beyond, and by working alongside Mr. Fleiderman and his team, the World Poker Tour has an opportunity to expand its footprint in Europe. We are thrilled to kick off this partnership with a $200,000 guaranteed WPT National event in June, and look forward to sharing the WPT experience with everyone associated with the spectacular Europe-Bet.com Poker Club."

Nicolas Fleiderman, CEO of Europe-Bet.com, added: "We continue to strive to maintain our brand positioning, not only as the undisputed market leader in Georgia, but also as a globalized operator. Our partnership with World Poker Tour will help us expand our poker penetration at a solid pace. We are excited to host WPT events at our premier poker club, and to showcase our strong online offering."

The first of the three events, the Europe-Bet WPT National Georgia, will take place at the Europe-Bet.com Poker Club in Tbilisi from June 4-7. The 1,400-square meter Europe-Bet.com Poker Club, which opened in September of 2012, is the only establishment of its kind in Georgia and feature 24/7 service, bars, restaurants, and up to 20 poker tables.

The $1,100 buy-in WPT National event that will be held there will feature a $200,000 guarantee. Then, in Nov., the WPT will return with the coveted WPT Champions Cup for a Main Tour stop before hosting their second WPT National event a month later.

The WPT believes the Mediterranean climate, unique landscape and legendary local hospitality will make Georgia a one-of-a-kind travel destination.

"Georgians are particularly proud for having rich wine history dating back 8,000 years. Lovers of architecture will enjoy a mixture of ancient and modern buildings, including cathedrals, towers and city walls," said a press release. "Shardeni Street, located in the lively capital of Tbilisi, is full of bars, clubs and restaurants with an abundance of nightlife scenes to explore. Today’s Georgia is a country with strong traditions that share Western values and welcome new visitors with open arms.
