The Grand Poker Series Is Back at the Golden Nugget Las Vegas on May 27

Grand Poker Series 2015

The eighth edition of the annual Grand Poker Series kicks off at the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino on Wednesday, May 27. The series is set to keep poker players busy until July 3 with an action-packed tournament schedule and a guaranteed prize pool of $1,600,000.

Considered to be among the best tournament series for low-stakes tournament players, the Grand Poker Series features a 56-event schedule with buy-ins ranging from a minimum of $100 to a maximum of $560. The events are sure to attract large fields made up those that love the series and a number of the players in Las Vegas for the 2015 World Series of Poker.

"We have created a series of events that are attractive to both the novice and advanced player," Vice President of Casino Operations at the Golden Nugget Jason Sides said. "It offers players affordable buy-ins, great structures and over a million dollars in guaranteed money."

Highlighted by a $560 Main Event with a $500,000 guaranteed prize pool, the Grand Poker Series features 11 different $100,000 guaranteed tournaments with a $350 buy-in. The 2015 edition of the series also includes nearly 20 tournaments that are in forms other than hold'em, including two H.O.R.S.E. events.

This year, the events included in the Grand Poker Series will feature new blind structures and payout percentages, as well as each tournament now having a tiered blind structure. In a note sent to the media, the organizers explained that the first eight levels will have 30-minute blinds, while levels nine through the final table will have 45-minute blinds. Every final table will have 60-minute blind levels.

The 2015 Grand Poker Series also marks the first step of a cooperation between the Golden Nugget and the Ante Up Poker Tour, as the co-owner of Ante Up Poker Media Scott Long explained: "The Golden Nugget has long been one of my favorite places to relax and play while in Las Vegas. We’re beyond thrilled that this relationship now takes us to one of grandest resorts in the most exciting gaming city in the world."

As a result of this cooperation, the series will receive an extensive media coverage by Ante Up Magazine, while the winner of the 2015 Main Event will be rewarded with one ticket to the 2015 Ante Up World Championship Main Event.
