GPI Player of the Year: Connor Drinan Takes Over First Place; Chidwick and Hutter Join Top 10
Each week, the Global Poker Index (GPI) updates its Player of the Year race taking into account a player's 13 best results according to its formula. For a look at the entire list, visit the official GPI website .
After two stints at No. 2, Connor Drinan has reached the No. 1 spot in the GPI POY rankings for the first time. Drinan min-cashed Event #15: $10,000 Pot-Limit Hold'em Championship at the 2015 World Series of Poker , giving him the full compliment of 13 qualifying scores to count toward the POY rankings.
Other movement in the top 10 included both Stephen Chidwick and Barry Hutter joining the top 10 for the first time. Chidwick took seventh place in Event #17: $10,000 Razz Championship , while Hutter min-cashed Event #10: $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em Heads-Up Championship and followed that by taking down Event #14: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em Shootout for $283,456.
