FTOPS Is Back Later This Month With $1 Million in Guaranteed Prizes Over 46 Events

FTOPS XXIX

After almost a full year, the Full Tilt Online Poker Series, better known to the poker community as the FTOPS, is returning to Full Tilt later this month.

The FTOPS XXIX guarantees at least $1 million in prizes over the course of 46 events from Sunday, February 21 until Sunday, March 13. As usual the highlight of the series will be the FTOPS Main Event on March 13, which guarantees a $250,000 prize pool with a $500 buy-in.

The series is somewhat different than what online poker players were used in the past. Instead of hosting a MiniFTOPS a month after the FTOPS, Full Tilt instead incorporated a wide variety of buy-ins into the same series ranging from $10 to $500. Lower buy-in players will also be able to participate in any of the events by qualifying in via the many satellites running on Full Tilt.

Another change is how the online poker series is structured. Each day during the online poker series, there will be two events with the only exception being on Sundays when there will be three events.

Other than that, things are pretty similar to previous FTOPS schedules with games available in a variety of variants including no-limit hold'em, pot-limit Omaha, pot-limit Omaha h/l, no-limit Omaha h/l, Razz, H.O.R.S.E., 7-game, 10-game, 25-game, and other formats.

Tournament structures will also be varied ranging from four-max to full ring along with knockout, multi-entry, reentry, rebuy, mega stack, and Rush Poker tournaments.

Some of the bigger tournaments in addition to the Main Event include the $100 buy-in Event #1 with a $100,000 guarantee on February 21, the $250 buy-in Event #16 with a $125,000 guarantee on February 28, and the $250 buy-in Event #31 with a $150,000 guarantee on March 6. All of these tournaments will be played in no-limit format with a slower than normal structure.

FTOPS Promotions

As was the case in previous FTOPS, Full Tilt will be hosting a variety of promotions for its players, including the chance to play in the FTOPS Main Event for free.

Every day from February 21 until March 11 at 15:00 ET, Full Tilt will be hosting a freeroll where the top 50 players will be automatically entered into the FTOPS Free Pass Multi-Entry tournament. The target tournament will be awarding five Main Event seats valued at $500 each.

Additionally, players that enter satellites but fail to qualify from Sunday to Saturday will have the opportunity to win a seat to that day's FTOPS event via a Flip freeroll taking place each Sunday at 13:30 ET via the Golden Parachute promotion.

Full Tilt will also be a FTOPS Leaderboard, where the top performing players will share up to $5,000 in prizes. Also, players that navigate their way to the final table in any event will receive a FTOPS jacket and each event's winner will be awarded a gold FTOPS jersey.

Full Tilt Ambassador Marc Kennedy shared his excitement for the upcoming schedule and is looking forward to streaming the events he plays in stating that, “I’m delighted that Full Tilt is bringing FTOPS back in February. The expanded events list and wider buy-ins should ensure 22 days of great action at the poker tables. I’m looking forward to a big schedule of events all streamed on Twitch (twitch.tv/MarcKennedy) – see you at the tables!”
