Pamela Maldonado was born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley located in the southernmost tip of South Texas. After graduating from The University of Texas at Austin she moved to San Antonio where she dabbled in various industries before discovering an interest in writing. She interned with the two local magazines to build her skills before deciding to move out to Las Vegas to pursue bigger endeavors.
Poker has been apart of Pamela’s life since a young age as she was raised playing Mexican Sweat, Five-Card Draw, and Seven-Card Stud on the dining room table for dimes and quarters. An interest in poker along with a newfound passion in writing led to a search for a career within the industry.
Upon moving to Las Vegas, Pamela landed an internship with PokerNews, which turned into a contract job working as part of the editorial team during the 2013 World Series of Poker. After a successful summer, her spot with PokerNews evolved into a full-time position as a Jr. Editor and Social Media Coordinator.
