Day 2 completed

That's Day 2

Day 2 has ended for the evening. Play adjourns until 3 p.m. PDT Sunday, which is only 11 hours away. Players will have two hours to get down to 8 players, and the final table of 8 will start at 5 p.m. if possible.

Here are the seating orders and chip counts for the current two tables of six each:

Table 55
1 Alex Kravchenko 166,500
2 Greg Mascio 55,000
3 Phil Ivey 152,500
4 Jeff King 100,500
5 Bill Gazes 76,000
6 Rick Schwartz 56,000

Table 56
1 Thomas Schultz 145,500
2 Jeff Campbell 138,000
3 Ralph Schwartz 350,000
4 Robert Mizrachi 165,500
5 Yuebin Guo 218,000
6 Alexander Jung 297,500

Gazes Still Here

From a recent low of 23,000 a half-hour ago, Bill Gazes doubles once again and is up to 60,000. He's still lowest in chips, but he may yet survive.

Robert Mizrachi Climbing

Robert Mizrachi took the whole pot with a jack-high straight against 7-7-6-6 with no low. He's up to 170,000 with a few minutes to go for the night.

Michael Lemkin Eliminated in 13th ($11,731)

Robert Mizrachi and Jeff Campbell tag team on Michael Lemkin. Mizrachi gets the low and Campbell has kings and deuces for the high. Lemkin goes out in sheer class, flopping on the floor and . . . just kidding. He shakes everyone's hand, saying, "Nice game, gentlemen," and goes over to the other table and shakes everyone's hand over there, too.

Stud-8

Level 35: Stud-8
Ante: 1,500
Bring-in: 2,000
Completion: 6,000
Limits: 6,000-12,000

David Benyamine Eliminated in 14th ($11,731)

David Benyamine is busted by Greg Mascio. Benyamine has a pair of jacks going into the all in, but Mascio makes eights and nines.

Mascio Doubles Through Ivey

Greg Mascio's {J-Spades}{9-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{A-Spades}{9-Clubs}-x is good enough against Phil Ivey and he doubles up to 65,000. Ivey is down to 73,000.

Short Stack Doubles Through Short Stack

Bill Gazes starts with {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}{5-Hearts}, is all in, and gets another king on seventh to stay alive versus David Benyamine's {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{8-Clubs}. Benyamine is down to his last 10,000 and Gazes has 23,000.

Jesse Jones Eliminated in 15th ($10,378)

Jesse Jones has a heart flush draw with a pair of threes and hits the clunker -- the {Q-Clubs} -- on the river. His opponent, Ralph Schwartz, has a better hand and takes out the World Poker Association chief in 15th.
