Day 2 Ends

We have reached our final table of nine and action will resume at 3 p.m. PDT on Wednesday, June 6.

Brandon Wong Eliminated in 10th Place ($11,552)

Brandon Wong raised from middle position, Gary Styczynski re-raised, and Wong called. The flop was {A-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{6-Spades}. Wong checked, Styczynski bet, Wong raised, and Styczynski called. The turn was the {4-Clubs}. Wong bet his last 12,000 and Styczynski called. Wong turned over the {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} for top pair, but Styczynski had a club draw with the {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}. Wouldn't you know it, the {J-Clubs} fell on the river, and Wong earned the dubious title of final table bubble boy.

The Slowdown

Action had slowed significantly as we're on the final table bubble. Players have been trading small pots back and forth, not wanting to get too heavily involved.

10th place will take home $11,552 and 9th will earn $16,148.

Michael Banks Stays Alive

Michael Banks
Michael Banks
Brandon Wong raised, Gary Styczynski re-raised and Michael Banks called the rest of his chips from the big blind. The flop was {10-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{2-Spades}. Wong checked and Styczynski checked. The turn was the {5-Clubs} and they both checked again. The river was the {3-Spades} -- check-check again. Wong showed the {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} for ace high, Banks showed the {4-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for a pair of fives, and Styczynski mucked.

Banks was up to 110K after the hand.

Michael Banks Doubles Through Brandon Wong

Brandon Wong raised, Michael Banks re-raised all in and Wong called. Banks showed the {A-Clubs}{10-Hearts} and Wong was dominated with the {A-Diamonds}{9-Spades}. There was no help on the flop for Wong and Banks doubled up.

Blinds Up

Blinds are now 8,000-15,000 with betting limits of 15,000-30,000. 8,000-15,000 blinds may seem strange -- 7,500-15,000 sounds more like it -- but it makes sense as the 500-denomination chips were colored up hours ago.

Speaking of that color-up, Gary Styczynski, who returned from break to find half his chips missing (they were mistakenly placed in Michael Banks' stack), is our current chip leader, with 660,000.

Varouzhan Gomroyan
Varouzhan Gumroyan raised from UTG, James Gorham re-raised from UTG+1, and Gumroyan called. The flop was {6-Clubs}{3-Spades}{2-Hearts}. Gumroyan bet and Gorham called. The turn was the {5-Hearts}. Gumroyan led again and Gorham called. The river was the {2-Diamonds}. Gumroyan bet and Gorham called. Gumroyan showed the {A-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and Gorham mucked.

After the hand Gumroyan was up to 275,000 and Gorham fell to 248,000.

Re-Draw

Players have re-drawn for seats and combined to a single ten-handed table. Play will continue until one more player is eliminated. There will be an additional re-draw tomorrow afternoon before the final table begins.
