Official Day 2 Chip Counts

The WSOP has now released the official chip counts for the 17 players who have survived the first two days of play in Event #27, $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em. They'll be led into the final day's action by Vitaly Lunkin; Lunkin moved into the lead late in the session and will return on Monday with 912,000 in chips. The current standings:

We're Done For Today

224 players started today and the aim was to get down to a final table of 9 but after twelve hours of play we only made it as far as 17. These 17 worn out players dragged their legs out of the tournament area and will head to their beds to sleep and unscramble their brains ready for the next step tomorrow.

They'll come back at 2pm Pacific time where they will play down to a final table of 9 and then on to a winner of Event #17 - $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em.

New Chip Leader

Ken 'Drama Llama' Terrell became the chip leader on the last hand of the night when he tangoed with Jason Duffy. Duffy raised from the cutoff to 60,000 and when the table folded to Terrell in the big blind he pushed all in and had Duffy covered. Duffy went into the tank for a long time and finally jumped up and called.

That was ideal for Terrell as hit the board.

The turn brought the and Duffy was dead to a nine.

The river was the and Terrell took down the monster pot. His stack is now 888,000.

Yeh, The Day Bubble Has Burst

Philip Yeh and Aliaksandr Dzianisau got all the chips in preflop.

The End Of Day Bubble

We've been stuck at 19 players for a while and need to lose one more before we end play for today. Nobody wants to go out now and be the end of day bubble boy/girl, hence most are playing a bit tighter than usual.

Philip Yeh raised to 60,000 from under the gun before Vitaly Lunkin reraised another 114,000. Yeh made the call creating a big pot.

The flop came prompting Yeh to check-fold to Lunkin's 195,000 bet.

'Why can't I fold ace queen' commented Yeh.

Lunkin up to 720,000 now.

Donaldson Doubles through Kimes

Trevor Donaldson moved all in preflop with and was called by Brett Kimes with . The flop came giving Donaldson top pair. The turn gave Kimes some hope when a hit the board and gave him a gut shot straight draw. The river brought a blank , and Donaldson raked the pot.

Donaldson is now has 420,000 and Kimes has 200,000.

Duffy Versus Henry

Jason Duffy and Jeffrey Henry got into a pot that would end up costing Henry his tournament.

When the chips were all in Henry showed and Duffy .

The board brought no help to either player and that is music to Duffy's ears as his queen played and busted Henry.

Duffy has 450,000.
