The day started with 241 hopefuls who forked over the $10,000 buy-in for this year's H.O.R.S.E. Championship. Most of the big names in poker could be found in the Amazon Room today including Doyle Brunson, Erik Seidel, Daniel Negreanu, Joe Hachem, Annie Duke and Ted Forrest. All of whom managed to make it through Day 1, but not all were so lucky.
Phil Ivey, Tom Dwan, Howard Lederer, Andy Black, David Benyamine, Lex Veldhuis, Dan Heimiller, David Steicke, Maria Ho and David Bach, last year's $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. Champion, were among the notables who met their demise. Heading into Day 2, around 170 players remain. Among them are 2004 Main Event Champ, Greg Raymer; L.A. Lakers owner, Jerry Buss; fan favorites, Chris Ferguson and Jason Mercier; and high stakes pro, Eli Elezra. However, all of these players are chasing the big stacks of Carlos Mortensen, Scotty Nguyen, Matt Glantz and Sergey Altbregin.

Juanda completed the bet on third street and was called by Barbieri, who then turned around and bet fourth. Juanda raised and Barbieri made the call.
On fifth street, Barbieri checked and allowed Juanda to throw out a bet. Barbieri called and both players checked sixth street. Juanda threw out one more bet on seventh street and this time it was enough to take it down as Barbieri folded.
Juanda is up to 20,000 while Barbieri dropped to 40,000.

Table 286 is currently home to three of the biggest names in poker. PokerStars Team Pro Canada member Daniel Negreanu and Team Pro USA member Greg Raymer have been joined by the 2005 Main Event Champ and Team Pro Australia member, Joe Hachem.
This is certainly a table that'll attract a lot of attention; unfortunately, the last level of the night is ticking down and the table won't last for long as the players will redraw seating assignments for Day 2.
Speaking of Day 2, all three PokerStars Pros are primed to make it. Negreanu and Hachem are both sitting with around 45,000 while Raymer is up to 85,000.
If Annie Duke thought her day would get easier with the elimination of Phil Ivey from her direct right, she was probably a little disappointed to see John Juanda fill that seat.
Joe Hachem's table has also now broken and he finds himself to the direct left of Greg Raymer.
Meanwhile Russian Sergey Altbregin has emerged through the pack to currently sit atop our chip count leaderboard with 133,000 chips.

PokerStars Team Russia Pro Alex Kravchenko completed the action on third street and then fired bets on every street, with his opponent calling him down.
