Event #45: $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em

"This Is Stupid"

Empty Pavillion

I've always wondered what the ruling would be if this situation occurred, and finally I have my answer. At the far end of the room, there was just one player seated at his table, the other nine players either nursing hangovers or looking for the cardroom in Rio, Brazil. There was an initial moment of uncertainty, but it was ultimately ruled that the player would simply have to wait for at least one opponent to arrived before being able to play.

This seemed a little unfair to me, as it's not his fault that he was on time and others weren't, so to reward his punctuality, we're going to name him. "This is stupid," he mumbled as we left, but hopefully a mention on the PokerNews updates (sponsored by - ahem - PokerStars.com) will make up for any lost time: Kyle 'mariner sheep' Huffman of Seattle, Washinton. What the hell, let's tag him up too!
