Level 10 : 1,200/2,400, 200 ante

The 2011 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure hosted the $5,000 + $250 Bounty Shootout on Thursday with 216 players spread out among 36 tables. By the end of Day 1, each of those tables crowned a single winner who'll return tomorrow for Round 2. Some of the more notable names who advanced were PokerStars Team Pros Dario Minieri (Italy), Greg Debora (Canada), Barry Greenstein (USA), George Lind III (Online), Ville Wahlbeck (Finland), and Jude Ainsworth (Ireland).

Some other players that'll be joining them are Faraz Jaka, Nick Binger, Michael Binger, Brandon Adams, David "ODB" Baker, Jeff Madsen, Shaun Deeb, and Amnon Filippi. While all of these players were fortunate enough win their respective tables, not everyone was so lucky. Five out of every six players hit the rail for a total of 180 eliminations. Among them were Daniel Negreanu, Scott Seiver, Sorel Mizzi, Andrew Lichtenberger, Jason Mercier, Eric Baldwin, Dwyte Pilgrim, Bertrand Grospellier, Viktor Blom, Joe Hachem, Greg Raymer, Jonathan Duhamel, and Melanie Weisner, just to name a few.

The remaining 36 players will return tomorrow to play in one of two heats. The first heat will begin at 12 P.M. EST and will feature Tables 1-3; Tables 4-6 will then return at 7 P.M. EST. By the end of Day 2, only six players will remain to determine the final table of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Bounty Shootout. Be sure to join us then as the PokerNews Live Reporting Team brings you all the action and eliminations from the Bahamas.

Binger Final Player to Advance to Round 2

Level 12 : 2,000/4,000, 400 ante

Michael Binger open-shoved all in from the button and Darren Kennedy called for his last 39,700.

Binger: {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}
Kennedy: {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}

Binger had previously doubled Kennedy six times in a row in all-in situations, but he'd have to get extremely unlucky to do so now. The {2-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} flop kept Binger in the lead and so did the {3-Diamonds} turn.

"Really?" Binger asked the dealer, "You're going to do it to me on the river?" The dealer wasn't so mean and put out the {7-Hearts}. After an epic heads-up battle, one that started many hours ago, Binger finally defeated Kennedy.

Lopsided Again

Level 12 : 2,000/4,000, 400 ante

Darren Kennedy raised to 9,000 from the button, and Michael Binger called to see a flop.

It came {10-Spades} {2-Clubs} {6-Clubs}, and Binger check-called a bet of 10,000. He checked again on the {3-Spades} turn, then called another 18,500 from Kennedy. The {J-Spades} filled out the board on fifth street, and Binger decided to make his move. He led out with an all-in shove, the two men pretty close in chips. Kennedy had him slightly covered with 45,100 chips left in his stack, and he tanked for a good long while before surrendering his cards.

Binger is up to 105,000 again, but closing this match out has proven to be much easier said than done.

Kennedy Keeps Keeping On

Level 12 : 2,000/4,000, 400 ante

Michael Binger had Darren Kennedy worked back down to 34,000 leading up to another all-in clash. Binger open-shoved the button with {Q-Spades} {9-Diamonds}, and Kennedy made the call with {K-Hearts} {J-Hearts}. The {4-Clubs} {A-Hearts} {2-Hearts} flop was a good one for Kennedy, and he stayed in front on the {7-Clubs} turn and {7-Spades} river.

That's another double for Kennedy, and he's right back to 68,000 now.

Kennedy Stays Afloat

Level 12 : 2,000/4,000, 400 ante

Darren Kennedy came in raising to 9,000 from the button, and Michael Binger moved all in from the big blind. Kennedy tanked for a while before calling all in for 30,500 with {Q-Diamonds} {7-Clubs}, and Binger's {A-Spades} {J-Hearts} was poised for the knockout.

Poised, that is, until the dealer ran a cruel {7-Diamonds} {K-Spades} {7-Spades} flop to all but lock up Kennedy's double. The turn {4-Clubs} sealed the deal, and the river {A-Clubs} means Kennedy is back to 61,000.

"This is absurd," said a very tilty Michael Binger. "How does it happen every time? That's five times..."

Breathing Room for Binger

Level 12 : 2,000/4,000, 400 ante

From the button, Darren Kennedy opened to 7,500, the standard raise these two have chosen at this level. The three-bets have been sparse, but they're starting to come with a bit more frequency in the last few minutes as the two men tire of this battle. Binger three-bet to 17,000 this time, and Kennedy came along with the call.

The flop brought {K-Clubs} {10-Clubs} {6-Hearts}, and Binger led out with 15,000. Kennedy called, and both men checked the {J-Clubs} turn. That led them to the {8-Clubs} river, and they check-checked it once again. Binger showed first, and his {5-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} was clubby enough to get the job done.

With that pot, Binger has begun to open up a bit of breathing room. He's just over 100,000 now, giving him a 2:1 lead as the level increases again.

Binger Fighting Back

Level 10 : 1,200/2,400, 200 ante

Michael Binger limped preflop and Darren Kennedy checked his option from the big blind. The flop fell {6-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{A-Hearts} and Kennedy check-called Binger's 4,000 bet. The dealer then burned and turned the {A-Spades}, which both players checked.

When the {3-Clubs} was put out on the river, Kennedy checked, Binger bet 12,000, and Kennedy made the call. Binger showed {3-Diamonds}{3-Spades} for a rivered set while Kennedy simply mucked. With that, Binger chipped up to 65,000, slightly behind Kennedy's 85,000.
