Gus Hansen Wins 2007 Aussie Millions Championship!

On a flop of {Q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}, Fricke checked, Gus Hansen bet $1 million, and Fricke check-raised all in. Hansen called instantly with {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}and Fricke flipped over {9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}. The turn was {2-Clubs}, which gave Fricke more outs. The river was {9-Spades} and Fricke's run was over.

Jimmy "Gobboboy" Fricke played amazing poker and held his own against some of the best players in the world. He busted out in second place winning $1 million. Gus Hansen won $1.5 million for first place.

"I was behind 3 to 1 when it was heads up so I felt that I could gamble a little. The next thing I knew I was ahead," mentioned Hansen in a post victory interview with Howard Lederer.

Jimmy Fricke Doubled Up on a River Suckout

On a flop of {J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}, Hansen bet 500K and Fricke moved all in for 4.3M. Hansen sat and pondered a call as he mumbled to himself.

"This could be the worst call ever," said Hansen as he looked for excuses to fold.

He eventually called and flipped over {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}. Fricke showed {K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}. He was behind but had an open-ended straight draw. The turn was {10-Spades} and the river was {9-Clubs} and Fricke doubled up. He regained the chiplead.
