21-year-old Michael Pesek, hailing from Chicago, Illinois, has just taken down the $2,200 PLH/Omaha/Omaha Hi-Lo event and $79,800 in prize money.
The hand started with Pesek on the button, who completed the bet. David Bach then announced "Pot," making it a total of 24,000 more to call. Pesek cut the required amount of chips from his stack, slid them into the middle and made the call.
The flop came

and Bach, first to act, led out with a pot-sized bet of 72,000. Pesek took one last look at his cards before raising the pot. Pesek's bet sent Bach into the tank and he counted and recounted his chips before eventually saying, "I call."
At the showdown, Bach tabled

for a gut-shot straight draw and a heap of overcards. Pesek showed

for top two pair.
After the cards were tabled, Pesek stood up out of his seat to sweat the last two cards, but the

that fell on the turn made him sit right back down, as it gave Bach the nut straight and left Pesek drawing to four outs for a full boat.
Amazingly, the

popped off on the river giving Pesek sixes full of sevens to outdraw Bach's straight and earned Pesek the title.

Michael Pesek opened the action with a pre-flop raise to 21,000 from the button and David Bach made the call from the big blind.
The flop came

and both players think for a long time before checking their hands.
The turn is the

and Bach leads with a bet of 20,000. Pesek goes into the tank once again before finally making a call.
The river is the

and Bach checks it over to Pesek who makes a 60,000 chip bet. This time Bach tanks before eventually folding his hand.
This hand went for close to five minutes without even getting to showdown!
Play has been very slow in this heads-up contest with both players being very deliberate with their decision making and selective with their spots. At the moment they appear content to play small pots rather than risk a big all in confrontation.

Not much has changed since heads-up play began. At last count, Michael Pesek had 288,000 in chips while David Bach had 282,000.
Both players seem to be getting a feel for each other's heads-up games and there has been very little significant action thus far.

Dag Martin Mikkelsen opened the pot with an 18,000 raise from the button. David Bach folded his small blind and Michael Pesek then potted the action from the big, kicking it up to 56,000. Mikkelsen quickly put in a third bet, moving all in and Pesek made the call:
Pesek:

The

flop made things more interesting, as Pesek had flopped an open-ended royal straight flush draw. Mikkelsen maintained his lead when the

fell on the turn, but the

on the river gave Pesek the pot-clinching flush.
Mikkelsen will take home $27,360 AUD for his third place finish.
