Gus Hansen Rumor Dispelled
With rumors floating around for the past couple of days about Gus Hansen playing the event, we've come to find out that despite being present here in Warsaw, Poland, he's not actually here to play the event. Hansen is here with some friends doing some sight seeing, but it may not be the normal sight seeing you're used to though. Hansen's friends have an affinity for Polish women and have decided to take a little vacation to Warsaw. Hansen is tagging along and seems to be enjoying himself quite a lot.

No Gus
Whatever was said earlier, forget about it because Gus Hansen is not here. Rumors had spread that he was in the field today and his name even appeared on the entrant list prior to the start of action. We've yet to spot him down on the tournament floor all day long, in the casino, or even in the hotel.

Sorry, Ladies
As evidenced by his presence at an otherwise empty table, chatting on his phone, Mr. Gus Hansen is no longer in the running for this EPT.

The Hansen Effect
"This was the best table until you came!"
So said Cristian Dragomir just now across the table to Gus Hansen. It appeared initially Dragomir was referring to the fact that now that Hansen was at the table, a huge crowd has remained nearby.
But as Dragomir continued, it was clear he was referring to another effect caused by Hansen's presence. "Now everyone is taking your lead," he continued. "Playing three-handed, every hand. Every hand!"
Hansen responded with a silent grin, moving his chips back and forth in front of him. And preparing for more moves to come. -

Round Two to Gus
Following a flop of

The turn was the
. Shestakov checked, and with some deliberation Hansen pushed out a bet of 5,625, leaving himself about 11,000 behind. Shestakov thought a while, then gave it up.
Hansen bounces back to 23,000, while Shestakov has 41,000. -

Hansen in the House
We weren't sure earlier -- and the ensuing power outage understandably distracted us from the subject for a while -- but Gus Hansen is indeed in the tournament, having bought in earlier. He's taken a seat at Table 16, and we'll surely give you an update on his progress soon.

David Chiu Off To Dinner...Just
Hold'em
David Chiu raised the button and Gus Hansen defended his big blind with a call.
The flop came down

and both players checked. The turn was the
and Hansen checked to Chiu who tossed out a bet. Hansen asked for a count and discovered that Chiu had only 37,000 behind, before he declared a raise.
Chiu went into the tank for several minutes into the dinner break before eventually finding a fold to leave himself crippled. Hansen raked in the chips but commented how surprised he was that Chiu would fold with so much in the middle to leave himself so short.
Either way both players are off to dinner, but you would think Gus Hansen will enjoy his dinner a little more than David Chiu. -
