WSOP Updates – Event #20, $2,000 7CS Hi-Lo — Graboski Leads, Raymer Makes Final Table

Day Two of the Event #20, $2,000 Seven Card Stud High-Low Split (Eight-or-Better) saw the day begin with several prominent names high on the board, including Greg Raymer, Jeff Madsen and Perry Friedman, all pursuing Day One chip leader Steve Weiss. Unlike Day One, when the early pace was relaxed, the knockouts came early, with Young Phan exiting only minutes into play.

Many big names remained as well, including Ted Forrest, John Juanda, Chris Ferguson, Annie Duke, Mike Wattel, Dan Heimiller, Alex Vuong, Cory Zeidman, Allen Kessler, Men Nguyen, Sabyl Cohen, and Michael Mizrachi. Many eyes were on 2004 Main Event champ Raymer, however, as he built his stack upward through the day's action.

Raymer and 2006 two-time WSOP bracelet winner Jeff Madsen tangled several times throughout the day, ending Raymer busted Madsen late in the day. Both players were already in the money, with Madsen getting $4,950 for finishing 25th, as Raymer would be the only prior bracelet winner left to battle it out for the first-place prize of $176, 358 on Day Three.

Another story of the day featured Ted Forrest's solid play. Despite starting the day with one of the shorter stacks, Forrest made a deep run, but it wasn't meant to be for the guy Larry Flynt once said was, "arguably the best Stud player on the planet." Forrest busted just off the final table in tenth, worth $9,591.

Fans attending the Day Three final should see plenty of early action due to the imbalance of four short stacks and four larger ones, forcing the short stacks into play. The lineup for Wednesday's final table:

PLAYER — CHIPS

Seat 1: Stephen Graboski 373,000
Seat 2: Ryan Hughes 341,000
Seat 3: Greg Raymer 235,000
Seat 4: Adam Spiegelberg 36,000
Seat 5: Douglas Rico Carli 97,000
Seat 6: Jim Weir 46,000
Seat 7: Min Lee 66,000
Seat 8: Ron Ware 167,000
