Golden Nugget Announces 'The Grand Poker Series'

As a tie-in to this spring's upcoming poker movie, The Grand, the Golden Nugget has announced its 'The Grand Poker Series,' which will run from June 6 – July 6, 2008. The series is one of several lower-buyin options available during this summer while the World Series of Poker's seven-week run draws thousands of players to Vegas.

The series features predominantly no-limit hold'em events, but also sprinkles in some Omaha and H.O.R.S.E. tourneys. The buy-ins are designed to be generally affordable for most bankrolls, with all events falling between $200+25 and $500+50 excepting two events, the 'Grand Finale' starting on July 5th, and the series opener, a charity event hosted by Montel

Williams on June 6th. The buy-in for both of those tourneys is $1,000+80. Two other special events on the schedule are a ladies tourney (June 9) and a seniors event (June 23). Bracelets will also be awarded to the winners of the Grand Finale, the Ladies Event, and the Montel fundraiser. All opening days begin at noon Vegas time.
