According to EPT chief executive John Duthie, "The new EPT season includes all the events which have made the past four seasons such a triumph with record fields across Europe and record prize pools. We have set very high standards and aim to improve on this still further in Season 5." Duthie also noted the return of the popular French event, cancelled last year to circumstances beyond the EPT's control, and noted several important facts and figures illustrating the enormous popularity of the EPT. Among the EPT's credentials:

● Total EPT Season Four prize pool of $62 million (almost €40 million);

● 5,902 total EPT Series championship event entries (including 1,682 online qualifiers via PokerStars);

● Largest single prize pool ever generated for a non-Las Vegas event -- $3 million (over €2 million) for the Season Four EPT Grand Final.

Online qualifiers for the new Season Five EPT events begin on PokerStars July 7th, with entries priced as low as $2.20. Prize packages won online at Stars also include top-flight accomodations and spending money.
