2008 PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) Day 2 Report

Two more events took place on Sunday in the 2008 PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP). It was a day for traditional poker games, prior to Sunday's double helping of no-limit hold'em tourneys, and both Saturday events easily eclipsed their pre-event guarantees.


WCOOP Event #3: $215 Limit Hold'em $300,000 Guaranteed

The first fixed-limit event of this years WCOOP saw 2,258 participants for a total prize pool of $451,600. Notable showings included Soren Kongsgaard in 69th place and Matt "MattSuspect" Molinari in 66th place.

The tournament came to a close nearly 18 hours after it began when cwp394 got the best of Peter "#1PEN" Neff in the heads-up battle. Neff took home $54,192 while cwp394 left with a first-place prize of $73,385.

The final results were:

Event #4 $215 2-7 Triple Draw $100K Guaranteed

734 players entered this year's deuce-to-seven lowball tourney to create a prize pool of $146,800. Among the top showings were Thayer Rasmussen in 52nd place, Mike Sowers in 50th place, "Rabscuttle" in 29th place, and "BrandonPL" in 13th place.

After twelve and a half hours the final six players duked it out to
decide the first-place prize of $24,809.20. In the heads-up battle,
playitsafe bested mardene to win the bracelet.

The final results were:
