Online Poker Weekend: 'huztlerCrew', 'herdgolf86' Super Winners

The social occasion that is Super Bowl Sunday traditionally results in a slight dip in attendance in major online events. Yesterday's big tourneys stayed true to expectations, though the overall turnouts remained high. A three-way chop defined the final table of the PokerStars Sunday Million before 'huztlerCrew' went on to win, while a triumph for 'herdgolf86' at the Full Tilt Super Sunday $500,000 made it a foursome of six-figure winners on the day. Here's how the action played out:

PokerStars Sunday Million

Super Bowl Sunday affected PokerStars slightly, but 7,513 players still entered the Stars Sunday Million to create a total prize pool of $1,502,600. Impressive notable finishes just shy of the final table included Jordan "scarface_79" Smith in 12th place ($7,513), James 'jcamby33' Campbell in 19th ($3,005.20) and Matt "GrinderMJ" Juttlestad in 84th ($2,103.64). These were the chip counts as the final table started:

freakypokerd - 14,990,647
huztlerCrew - 10,496,304
niuniu09 - 9,734,536
Kripp85 - 9,023,664
MCLegend - 7,238,062
Alan "BodogAri" Engel - 7,211,054
FRfr1111 - 5,607,971
kiaser - 5,564,280
youjizz - 5,263,482

With nobody entering the final table with a huge stack the standings shifted around quite a bit. Eliminated first was the original chip leader, freakypokerd, at the 150,000/300,000/30,000 level. FRfr1111 opened to 600,000 from early position and freakypokerd re-raised to 2,400,000 on the button. FRfr1111 called and the flop came (9-Clubs)(8-Diamonds)(9-Diamonds). FRfr1111 (8s8h) check-called an all-in bet of 6,575,647 from freakypokerd ((J-Diamonds)(J-Hearts)). The turn and river came (A-Clubs) and (4-Diamonds) as freakypokerd departed in ninth place for $10,518.20. Kiaser exited at 200,000/400,000/40,000. After losing a coin-flip to Alan "BodogAri" Engel, kiaser's last 806,234 went in the middle with (A-Hearts)(5-Clubs) holdings against FRfr1111's (Q-Spades)(10-Diamonds). The board came (10-Spades)(4-Spades)(3-Hearts)(Q-Hearts)(3-Diamonds) and kiaser busted in eighth place for $17,279.90.

At 250,000/500,000/50,000, niuniu09 was knocked out by Alan Engel, who went on a heater during the level. A short-stacked niuniu09 went all in for 1,913,482 from middle position with (J-Spades)(10-Spades) and Engel isolated from the cutoff holding (A-Spades)(K-Diamonds). The board rolled out (2-Diamonds)(A-Diamonds)(8-Diamonds)(Q-Diamonds)(7-Diamonds) and niuniu09 hit the road in seventh place for $26,295.50. Engel continued his good run by eliminating Kripp85. He raised to 1,130,000 on the button and Kripp85 went all in for a total of 2,887,328 from the big blind with (K-Spades)(Q-Spades). Engel called with (J-Spades)(7-Hearts) and won the pot when the board ran out (8-Clubs)(3-Spades)(3-Clubs)(J-Clubs)(8-Hearts). Kripp85 earned $39,067.60 for the sixth-place finish. Engel claimed a third victim toward the end of the level. He raised to 1,201,000 in the cutoff and youjizz went all in for 7,306,600 in the big blind with (4-Hearts)(3-Diamonds). The move didn't work as Engel held (J-Diamonds)(J-Clubs) and won the hand when the board ran out (K-Hearts)(3-Spades)(J-Spades)(9-Spades)(7-Spades). The fifth-place finish paid youjizz $54,093.60.

FRfr1111 was sent to the rail at 300,000/600,000/60,000. MCLegend opened to 1,545,000 from the cutoff and FRfr1111 went all in for 7,063,900 out of the big blind with (A-Diamonds)(Q-Clubs). MCLegend called with (A-Clubs)(9-Hearts) and won the hand in convincing fashion when the dream flop came (9-Clubs)(9-Diamonds)(9-Spades). The turn and river were a meaningless (K-Clubs) and (8-Hearts) and FRfr1111 was out in fourth place for $69,119.60. A deal between the remaining three players guaranteed each the following, with $30,000 set aside for the eventual winner:

MCLegend - $127,518.22
huztlerCrew - $120,000
Alan "BodogAri" Engel - $116,613.76

Alan Engel exited in third. From the small blind, huztlerCrew raised to 1,500,000, Engel re-raised to 3,567,804 and huztlerCrew re-popped it to 8,400,000. Engel called, and when the flop came (7-Spades)(2-Diamonds)(5-Diamonds), huztlerCrew shoved. Engel called all-in for 11,767,804 and held (A-Clubs)(J-Hearts), trailing huztlerCrew's (6-Diamonds)(6-Hearts). The turn and river came (7-Diamonds) and (10-Clubs), no help to Engel who finished in third place for $116,613.76. These were the chip counts at the start of heads-up play:

huztlerCrew - 46,363,458
MCLegend - 28,766,542

HuztlerCrew maintained his lead and went on to win the tournament. At 400,000/800,000/80,000, MCLegend went all in for 15,986,542 with (A-Diamonds)(8-Clubs) and huztlerCrew called with (K-Diamonds)(4-Hearts). The board ran out (9-Clubs)(5-Hearts)(9-Spades)(4-Clubs)(J-Spades) and MCLegend was on the losing end, finishing in second place for $127,518.22. The winner of the PokerStars Sunday Million was huztlerCrew for $150,000.

Final Results:

*1. huztlerCrew - $150,000
*2. MCLegend - $127,518.22
*3. Alan "BodogAri" Engel - $116,613.76

Mi30ke's (Q-Diamonds)(9-Diamonds) came up second-best to xx BabyGrand xx's (K-Hearts)(J-Hearts) on a (2-Hearts)(A-Hearts)(5-Clubs)(7-Hearts)(9-Spades) board. The ninth-place finish earned mi30ke $7,854. Don "Brian Stevens" Stevens went out next at 20,000/40,000/5,000. Under the gun, Stevens went all in for 139,896 with (K-Diamonds)(10-Clubs) and ran into Antonio18's (A-Clubs)(A-Spades). The board rolled out (9-Diamonds)(6-Clubs)(A-Hearts)(Q-Diamonds)(Q-Hearts) and Stevens collected $10,332.40 for eighth. A deja vu moment occurred a few hands later when Antonio18 held the same cards ((A-Clubs)(A-Spades)) and eliminated bigbubbava, who tabled (8-Spades)(8-Hearts). The board came (5-Clubs)(7-Clubs)(Q-Clubs)(5-Spades)(2-Diamonds) and bigbubbava was out in seventh place for $13,127.40.

Yeshaya was eliminated at 25,000/50,000/6,000. On the button, Antonio18 raised to 135,000 and Yeshaya shoved from the big blind for 791,380 with (A-Spades)(5-Diamonds). Later in the level fooker323 departed. All in for 510,472 with (3-Clubs)(3-Diamonds), fooker323 ran into Chris "herdgolf86" Tipper's (A-Diamonds)(A-Spades). The (3-Spades) fell on the flop, but it was followed by (A-Hearts) and (10-Hearts). Neither the turn nor river brought the case trey for fooker323, who finished in fifth place for $24,684. PrishChips31 went out next after moving all in from the button with (A-Clubs)(7-Hearts) and running into Antonio18's (9-Hearts)(9-Diamonds). The board brought no ace and PrishChips31 was out in fourth place for $32,538. At 30,000/60,000/7,500, xx BabyGrand xx fell.
