Online Poker Weekend: Robert 'perky264' Perkins Wins Full Tilt $750,000 Guarantee

April 13, 2009, Mickey Doft and Ryan Nelson
This week's $750,000 Guarantee at Full Tilt drew a field of 3,626 players. First place was set at $132,787.50, with Robert "perky264" Perkins claiming the win after reeling in early leaders Oscar "KungKroon" Kroon and "Tokmak" at the final table. Notable finishers exiting short of the final table included Trung "DYnaSTyZz" Tran in 14th($5,325), Alex "TheAssassinato" Fitzgerald in 15th ($5,325), Shawn "phat_cat1" Luman in 20th ($2,775), Todd "tbt4653" Terry2in 24th ($2,775), Greg "DuckU" Hobson in 26th ($2,775). Early on at the final table, these were the chip counts:

Oscar "KungKroon" Kroon -- 2,611,212
Tokmak -- 2,239,292
Robert "perky264" Perkins -- 1,235,394
Pat "TorontoToro" Pezzin -- 1,008,658
Surfbum4life -- 930,062
Dan "Wretchy" Martin -- 872,442
LtDansLegs -- 762,667
ApesAreFun -- 740,727
stiletto girly -- 477,546

Stiletto girly departed from the final table during the 17,000/34,000/4,000 level. From the cutoff, stiletto girly went all in for 489,546 with (4-Diamonds)(4-Hearts), but Pat "TorontoToro" Pezzin woke up with (Q-Hearts)(Q-Clubs) in the big blind and called. The flop came (9-Clubs)(4-Spades)(J-Clubs) and put stiletto girly ahead. The (6-Clubs) turn gave a few more outs to Pezzin and the (Q-Spades) fell on the river to give Pezzin the better set. The ninth-place showing meant stiletto girly pocketed $10,050. Pezzin, though, lost most of his stack when his A-K failed to connect against ApesAreFun's pair of eights. Pezzin busted when, in a multi-way pot, his hand was mucked as Robert "perky264" Perkins' (K-Clubs)(K-Hearts) was best on a board of (3-Diamonds)(5-Spades)(3-Spades)(10-Hearts)(9-Hearts). Pezzin won $13,500 for his performance.

During the 25,000/50,000/6,000 level, Surfbum4life got it all in for 1,388,875 with (Q-Diamonds)(Q-Spades) against Robert Perkins' (A-Diamonds)(K-Spades). The board fell (6-Hearts)(K-Diamonds)(8-Diamonds)(A-Clubs)(A-Hearts) as Surfbum4life busted in seventh place for $17,250. ApesAreFun had no fun later in the level in a hand against LtDansLegs. All in for 434,739, ApesAreFun needed help with (A-Clubs)(10-Diamonds) against LtDansLegs' (7-Hearts)(7-Spades). However, the board ran out (Q-Spades)(K-Diamonds)(9-Spades)(4-Spades)(Q-Diamonds) and ApesAreFun hit the rail in sixth place for $23,025.

Dan "Wretchy" Martin busted from the tournament at 30,000/60,000/7,500. LtDansLegs raised to 144,444 from the cutoff and Martin went all in for 506,490 on the button with (K-Diamonds)(Q-Spades). LtDansLegs called with (A-Clubs)(7-Hearts), which held up as the board ran out (K-Clubs)(A-Spades)(J-Clubs)(3-Spades)(J-Spades). Martin earned $31,050 for his efforts. Tokmak busted next, at 40,000/80,000/10,000. On the button Tokmak raised to 195,000, and Oscar "KungKroon" Kroon re-raised to 600,000 in the small blind. Tokmak went all in for 1,265,932 with (Q-Hearts)(Q-Diamonds) and Kroon called with (A-Diamonds)(K-Diamonds). The board rolled out (4-Clubs)(4-Spades)(K-Hearts)(2-Spades)(4-Hearts) as Tokmak's fourth-place run netted him $41,400.

At 50,000/100,000/10,000, Robert "perky264" Perkins took out LtDansLegs. Perkins opened to 242,500 on the button and LtDansLegs shoved for 1,114,118. Perkins called with (A-Diamonds)(K-Spades) and had LtDansLegs' (A-Hearts)(Q-Hearts) in trouble. The (J-Hearts)(J-Spades)(6-Hearts) flop provided hope for the underdog, but the turn and river came (K-Clubs) and (3-Clubs). LtDansLegs finished in third place for $52,500. Heads-up play began with Oscar "KungKroon" Kroon holding a slight lead over Robert "perky264" Perkins, but Perkins prevailed. On the final hand, Kroon raised to 250,000 and Perkins re-raised enough to put Kroon to a decision for his tournament life. Kroon called all in for 1,807,968 with (A-Clubs)(K-Spades) and had the lead on Perkins' (K-Clubs)(Q-Hearts). However, Perkins spiked the queen as the board fell (6-Spades)(3-Hearts)(Q-Spades)(5-Spades)(4-Spades). Kroon was out in second place with $80,250, and Perkins had a $132,787.50 payday for winning the Full Tilt $750,000 Guarantee.
