The debut season of the PokerStars.Net Russian Poker Series ends just how it began today, as the RPS Grand Final gets underway in Kiev. The tour started here at the Khreschatyk Club back in May when Kirill Telezkin pocketed the $171,350 and it returns to the Ukrainian capital today for the $2,750 Grand Final, between November 30-December 6.
The other big winners so far were Alexander Kuperman who took down RPS Riga for €95,468.50 in August and Frederich Dollenz who won RPS RPS Sharm-El-Sheikh in October for €104,484. All three men and many more will have their sights set on this event as when it ends, the overall points leader on the RPS leader board will win a one-year PokerStars sponsorship package covering both online and offline tournaments. Currently Zharko Alexey and Yaroshevsky Igor are neck and neck with less than a point separating them at the top.
The finale is guaranteed to be a fiercely fought affair with so much on the line and you can catch all the action from start to finish over at the PokerStars Blog.
Speaking of PokerStars, you can still qualify for our exclusive $15,000 Sunday Million Freeroll series we have with them, exclusive to PokerNews.
