The PokerNews Guide to Setting Up a PokerStars Home Game

We think that PokerStars Home Games are going to take the online poker world by storm and add some real fun to the virtual felt. That’s why we are going to give you the lowdown on how to get in on the action right away, as well as joining us for a game or too.
PokerStars Home Games is a new innovation that lets you set up a private members club, where you can play cash games and tournaments, for play money or real money. You can invite whoever you want and even keep track of tournament leader board standings. PokerStars Home Games lets you take the banter of your local home game onto the online felt, allowing you to play with buddies all over the world.
Here is our guide to setting up a PokerStars Home Game of your own.
Download PokerStars
If you haven’t got a PokerStars account already you need one, so download the software now and set up a new account. Remember when you join PokerStars via PokerNews you get to also play in our exclusive promotions with them.
Create Your Home Game
Click on the Home Games Tab in the lobby and click ‘Create a Poker Club’
Name Your Club
Pick a funny name of course and also pick a unique password in the invitation code field.
Manage Your Club
Here you can suspend, reinstate and grant admin positions to players as well as select images and colour themes for the club the manage club tab.
This is also where you can invite new members by selecting the invite option and cutting and pasting the instructions in an email to your buddies.
Choose Your Games
You can set up cash game tables which run 24/7 or specific scheduled tournaments in the manage games tab . There is a real depth of choice here, you can tailor the game types, starting stacks, format, number of players, payout structure and more in these games.
In the tournaments you can also have league standings after every game, so you can play towards a bigger prize or bragging rights.
