World Poker Tour Legends of Poker Day 1b: Hilmar Solvason Leads Day 1b Field 0001

The World Poker Tour Legends of Poker resumed Saturday with Day 1b at the Bicycle Casino. The $3,500 buy-in Main Event drew 247 players on Friday's Day 1a and combined with 375 more on Day 1b, the field of 622 generated a prize pool of $2,111,690. The top 63 will make the money with first place set at a cool $500,000. After both Day 1 sessions, about 310 players remain.

Day 1b offered the chance for those who busted on Day 1a to re-enter and many players took advantage of that. Jon Aguiar, Justin Young, Jason Dewitt, Andy Frankenberger, and Brian Hastings were a few whose second attempt went better than the first, and they will return on Sunday for Day 2.

David Williams also fired a second bullet on Saturday, but his Day 1b came to an early end. According to his twitter account, Williams called a raise in position with Q8. The flop fell 10x9x7x with two hearts and Williams' opponent shipped it in for a massive overbet shove. Williams called all in, looking to score the early double up and saw that his massive draw was a slight favorite against his opponent's AxAx. However, he caught blanks on the turn and river to hit the rail.

Others who went 0-for-2 at the Legends of Poker were Dan Kelly, John Monnette, JC Tran, and Vanessa Selbst.
