Previewing the 2012-2013 World Series of Poker Circuit Bossier City

The 2012-2013 World Series of Poker Circuit Presented by Southern Comfort 100 Proof continued this past week with the second of 20 stops — the WSOP Circuit Horseshoe Bossier City in Louisiana. The stop, which will feature 12 rings events, will culminate this weekend with the $1,675 Main Event.

The big story out of Bossier City thus far has been the wild ride of Quan Nguyen, who has finished in second place in three different events. The first was in Event #1: $365 No-Limit Hold’em where he was denied victory by Matthew Colvin and left with a $13,037 consolation prize. A few days later, Lance Garcia stopped Nguyen shy of a ring and sent him home in second place in Event #5: $365 No-Limit Hold’em for $11,399. Fast forward another three days and the same thing happened in Event #8: $365 No-Limit Hold’em when Walan Kite emerged victorious, leaving Nguyen with another runner-up finish and $10,106. Despite missing out on a ring three times, Nguyen has essentially locked up the Casino Championship title and a spot in this year’s National Championship.

Joining Nguyen in Bossier City are Allen “Chainsaw” Kessler, Ken Adams, Mark Bonsack, John Dolan, Brandon Fish, Gary Friedlander, Mark “P0ker H0” Kroon and Dwyte Pilgrim, all of who are expected to take part in this weekend’s Main Event.

With several events yet to be determined, the race for the WSOP Circuit Horseshoe Bossier City Casino Champion is undetermined. Whoever captures that title, along with the eventual winner of the Main Event, will automatically qualify for the Second Annual $1 Million National Championship.
