Since Sept. 1 PokerNews has run a weekly freeroll on the world's largest online poker site, PokerStars, that has a massive $5,000 prize pool. The next $5,000 freeroll is due to take place at 14:00 ET (19:00 GMT) on Oct. 17, but if you want to play in it you will have to hurry because the qualification period has almost drawn to a close.
If you are a new player making a first deposit on PokerStars during the qualification period, you will automatically be awarded a ticket to the next available $5,000 freeroll. Plus by entering the marketing code "POKERNEWS.COM" and the bonus code "STARS600" you will be eligible for a 100% match up to $600 first deposit bonus and you will also be eligible to participate in all future promotions PokerNews holds with PokerStars, which since Jan. 2011 have seen combined prize pools in excess of $400,000!

Each week, the players who finish in the top 30 spots will be awarded with points based on their finishing positions, in addition to their cash prizes. The players who occupy the top 15 positions of the leaderboard once all of the freerolls have been completed will win a share of $7,500! The minimum prize is set at $50 and the eventual leaderboard winner will walk away with a bankroll boosting $1,500! The more freerolls you play, the more likely it is you will pick up some crucial leaderboard points and your chances of adding an additional $1,500 to your account are increased.
