2015 WSOP Europe Day 10: Boatman Wins 2nd Bracelet & Hastings Bags Big in Turbo Day 1b
Day 10 of the 2015 World Series of Poker Europe in Berlin, Germany saw Barny Boatman take down Event #7 €550 Pot-Limit Omaha for his second gold bracelet and Day 1b of Event #8: €1,100 Turbo No-Limit Hold'em with Reentry kick off. Here's a look at everything you need to know from Saturday action.
Barny Boatman Wins WSOP Gold Second Bracelet
Resurgent UK veteran pro Barny Boatman captured his second WSOP bracelet in Berlin, Germany, Saturday, taking down the 2015 World Series of Poker Europe's Event #7: €550 Pot-Limit Omaha.
Boatman collected €54,725 for the win, but it appeared the WSOP hardware meant much more to him.
"You know, any mug can win one bracelet," Boatman joked. "Turns out any mug can win two."
After years of WSOP grinding in Las Vegas with dozens of cashes dating all the way back to 2002, Boatman finally made good on his goal of winning a WSOP bracelet, taking down the 2012 WSOP Event #49: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em.
Saturday in Berlin, Boatman said winning a second one felt much different.
"It was very different from the experience two years ago of winning bracelet number one," he said. "It was a huge field, it was exhausting, my brother was there, so many of my friends were there and a lot of the best young poker players from Britain were on the rail. It was really exciting.
"I haven't been to the WSOP Europe for about four years and even then I only played one event. But I wanted to come this year and have a shot at it. This is my third or fourth final since I won the first one and I was really going after it."

Hasting Leads Surviving 21 Players from Day 1b of Event #8
Day 1b of Event #8: €1,100 Turbo NLHE saw 257 players take to the felt, which along with the 289 from Day 1a brought the total field up to 546. After 15 levels of play, just 21 remained with Brian Hastings – who recently spoke to PokerNews about chasing the WSOP Player of the Year title – and his stack of 137,100 leading the way. Of course that is well behind Day 1a chip leader Byron Kaverman, who bagged 247,000.
According to updates from the event, Hastings got some of his chips after sending Fedor "CrownUpGuy" Holz to the rail. The latter got it in preflop with the A♥J♠, but fell behind the K♣10♦ of Hastings after the flop came down 10♣6♠4♥ Neither the 6♦ turn nor 4♥ river helped Holz, and he had to split a min-cash of €2,020 with Jaalon Gutman, who busted in the same hand.

Some others who punched their ticket to Day 2 include Mike Leah (59,000), John Racener (57,000), Mohsin Charania (45,000), and Dermot Blain (16,500). All of the 21 surviving Day 1b players, along with the 25 from Day 1a, will already be in the money when they return on Day 2.
Of course not everyone was fortunate enough to bag and tag on Day 1b. Among those to fire and miss were Max Pescatori, Shaun Deeb, Allen Kessler, Liv Boeree, Greg Merson, Stephen Chidwick, Brian Rast, and Jonathan Duhamel.
